  • Great NYC apartment

"Great apartment for a NYC visit, with a very central location - one block to multiple subway stops. Apartment was very nicely decorated, well-equipped and clean. Owner was easy to work with, we enjoyed our visit and would stay here again."

  • Perfect location in the East Village

"We booked this Greenwich Village property in NYC for a fun family get away for 5 days. As indicated in the description, this one bedroom apartment was in the center of it all! We were also pleasantly surprised at how quiet the neighborhood was during all hours of the day. Only the birds woke us up in the morning. The apartment was exactly as it was described in the pictures. Lots of closet space, plenty of towels for 4, plenty of linen, very comfortable beds and a well stocked small kitchen. Although we were hesitant to book a one bedroom/one bath for 4 people, it was just enough space for us and our 2 young children who were able to easily fit on the double pull out coach in the living room. I would say that it's a bit tight for a family of four considering the small kitchen and bathroom, but certainly doable for the 5 days we spent in the city since were out on the town most of the time. We were able to easily walk to the subway stations within a few blocks and we enjoyed several of the local restaurants a block away. All the services you need are in walking distance. We would certainly recommend this property to others looking for a great NYC local neighborhood in the heart of it all. Easy booking, check in and departure! We would definitely consider returning to this property again. Overall, a great first time experience booking with vrbo!"

  • Cozy Home for NYC Adventure

"This was my very first trip to NYC. I wanted to stay "like a local" and enjoy the quieter parts of the city. First off, dealing with Luca (property manager) was fantastic. He was very organized and prompt with information. Getting to the apartment was very easy, many subway lines intersect just 2 blocks away. The location of the Carmin Street apartments cannot be beat, we took the subway up-town, down-town and over to Brooklyn, all from the station just 2 blocks away. I was traveling with my 7 year old daughter and we found so many parks and playgrounds within walking distance. This is a perfect base for a family vacation to the city. Previous posters commented on the subway noise int he apartment, and yes we could hear and feel the subway. After the first night we did not even notice it. Other than the "slight" noise from the subway, the apartment was quiet. No noise from the street. The private courtyard was wonderful!! The neighborhood had many great restaurants, our favorite was the Grey Dog. Wonderful staff, lots of choices, great coffee and nice beer selection. We also got carry out from Potjanee (Thai) and had bagels from Bagels on the Square on the way to the subway station every morning. I fell in love with NYC during this trip and I plan to return soon, and will definitely try to stay here again!!"

  • Wonderful location for non-touristy tourists!

"We absolutely loved this apt during our week long stay in the city. It's small, but the high ceilings and layout of the furniture still make it spacious enough for 2-3 people. It was incredibly clean and exceeded our expectations in every way! Since there are only two apartments in building and both are up a flight of stairs, we never had any problems with noisy neighbors or felt unsafe. The apartment faces 7th Ave. S and we loved waking up and people watching while having a cup of coffee at the dining table. As far as the street noise, it was actually relaxing for me. As someone who sleeps with a fan and needs noise, it didn't bother me at all. The subway was much more shaky than I expected it to be, but that didn't influence our stay at all, nor did it really bother us while sleeping since the trains seemed to cease at the times we were in bed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this apartment on our next visit to NYC and I would refer it to any of our friends or family as well. Luca and John were both more than helpful in booking the apartment and then after our arrival when we asked for more towels. We also used the fold and wash on Cornelia St about a block and half away and it was great. We ate at several of the restaurants in the area including Murray's Cheese Bar, Pearl Oyster Bar, and The Little Owl. Again, can't recommend this apartment enough!"
