  • PERFECT!!

"My daughter and I absolutely loved staying here!! Pictures do not do this place justice. Russ and Loni's Brownstone place is PERFECT!! It has all the comforts of home ... The apartment is located on the second floor. When you get there, you will normally met Russ. If it is before check-in time, you are more than welcomed to leave your bags inside the Brownstone! This apartment is impeccably clean. Once inside, there is a huge closet behind the entrance door that has hangers for your clothes and space to put your suitcase(s) away. The bathroom is immediately on your right and is supplied with plenty of towels, washcloths and hand towels!! As you proceed down the hall, there is a stackable washer/dryer for your convenience (which we used). The kitchen has a gas stove, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker with ample dishes/silverware. The living room/bedroom is open, light and airy. There are two windows that face the tree-lined street that provides a beautiful view. For a good nights sleep, close the beautiful wooden shutters to block out the lights. You will sleep like a baby in the queen size bed (there is also a futon provided if there are more than two)!! Even though we did not get a chance to meet Loni (told her "Good Morning" & "Merry Christmas" when passing her office) Russ is extremely helpful in navigating you around the neighborhood, metro (subway system) and places to eat and see. There is a Chinese take-out (Red Fish) on the corner of the street, a Japanese restaurant (Asian Fusion) on 7th, Starbucks just a few blocks and tons of shopping to experience. The subway (metro) system is readily available and the cost is $2.75 per person ... however, Downtown and Uptown is NOT a place ... it is a DIRECTION. So if someone tells you go North or South, go ask another person, cause they are not from there and you WILL get turned around. We suggest that you get a "Metro Card" with approximately $21 to begin. This allowed us to utilized the system multiple times. We, also, utilized the "driver" services VIA and UBER. They are much more reasonable than the taxis. We suggest that you visit the 911 Memorial and purchase the Flex City Pass to see the sunset from the observation deck of the One World Trade Center (there is no words to describe the view). The Empire State Building is another fabulous stop. Y'all have fun and enjoy the beautiful city!! Loni & Russ, looking forward to our next visit! Thank you so much. See you soon!! Teresa & Leslie"

  • Unique Comfortable Hospitality in Harlem

"We chose to stay with Sandy and Marsha to be close to our son's apartment 4 blocks away and were very comfortable during our stay. The house is lovingly restored and furnished and they are very attentive hosts. For just one instance, the dining area was stocked when we arrived- ground coffee, orange juice, bagels, yogurt, etc.- in short all the makings for a simple breakfast. On several days Marsha also presented us with fresh muffins and other great home-baked goods! There is not a full kitchen, but we did not miss it as we either ate lunch and dinner out or ordered in. Easy walks to two different subway lines made travel downtown a snap, and Sandy was very helpful with all questions about directions. The only proviso we mention is that the apartment is an open plan- both sleeping areas are in the open space and the bathroom is the only fully private room. That said, we loved staying here and recommend it as a unique and pleasant base for a few days in New York!"

  • Wonderful Stay

"I stayed at the Mayeri's apartment for a week in November. It was such a perfect "home away from home." The apartment is so comfortable-- a good size and nicely furnished. It is really well-appointed, with the washer/dryer, great kitchen and even a private patio! There were also so many thoughtful extras: a clothes drying rack, umbrellas, hair dryer, space heater. It's just a few blocks to two different subways so it's very easy to get downtown. The owners were so gracious and welcoming! The other thing is that even for a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. I've already booked for another stay."
