"I hesitate to write this review, because I want to be able to stay here in the future, and if people find out how amazing it is it will be booked indefinitely; but David is too generous to consider doing anything else. We arrived via train to Penn station, and easily walked the 2 short blocks to the flat to meet the housekeeper Eva. She gave us a warm welcome, and tour of the flat. The flat is truly magical, the custom designed lighting, bathroom sink, shower, and furniture was whimsical and inspiring, I want to re-decorate my own home now. Each time we entered, we discovered some other art piece, or hidden surprise, much like our exploration of the city outside. The bed was comfy, and my friend said the air mattress in the living room was as well. The washer and drier came in very handy on our second day when we were surprised by a rain storm and got drenched! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, a fridge and other equipment, but we were having too much fun eating in area restaurants to eat more than tea and yogurt here. The air conditioning worked well, but was only needed the first evening. The location was perfect to explore the city, we walked south the first day, along the highline trail, don't miss that. The second day we walked north, through Central Park. The subway is convenient as well, so after tiring we switched to the subway. We felt very secure and safe in this building and part of town. David was available by phone before booking, and throughout our stay, we ran into him as we were leaving the last day, and felt like we knew him after the intimacy of staying in his home. We hope to return someday."
