  • W. 51st Street Gem! FANTASTIC OWNER!!!

"W. 51st Street Gem! FANTASTIC OWNER!!! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family was fortunate to stay in 2 units in this building! Tiffany is a very accommodating host and has provided clean, safe, very reasonably priced units in the awesome Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. It's on a quiet, tree-lined street, close to hundreds of great restaurants and shops on 9th Ave and about a 5 minute walk (10 minutes toward the end of the week because we were so exhausted from seeing so much!!!) to the 50th St. C&E train station, which goes uptown along the west edge of Central Park, or downtown all the way to the 9/11 Memorial. Every time we travel, we expect to have glitches, and this was no exception. Through no fault of the owner's the DirecTV signal was lost, so there was no TV(DirecTV has very slow response times for repair). But, I always bring an HDMI cable and my laptop, so we vegged at night with some Netflix! (We didn't go to New York to watch TV anyway.) The owner was very accessible through texting, and once, when we lost the wifi signal, she connected us to a new router in 5 minutes! Her properties are all in the same building, this beautiful old brown stone with tons of character that made us feel like resident New Yorkers! It's such a safe neighborhood with people coming and going at all times of the day and night. We always felt at ease with our fellow sidewalk pounders! We got cupcakes at Amy's Bread, had an incredible Lebanese meal at Gazala Place (I recommend the chicken kebabs with the tihini), gorged ourselves on the "$1 per slice" pizza at the "$1 per slice" pizza place, had two great lunches at Uncle Mario's (this pizza will knock you out), got incredible produce at the Amish Market, got our Ben and Jerry's Phish Food every night from the Hudson Market, found foot ailment products at the Duane Reade (Walgreens) We used Uber to get from Laguardia (and to return 6 days later). Wonderful experiences. And very reasonable. Coming in: $49. Going back: $42 (difference is in the traffic). Thanks, so much, Tiffany, for the most fantastic birthday experience we've ever had! We hope to come back again next year. One thing in response to other reviews: She states plainly EXACTLY what is provided (linens, toilet paper, etc.) so there should be no surprises. There is a Hudson Market right on the corner for buying paper products. And the thing to consider is that THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE DEAL! So, pack an extra towel and wash cloth if you think you'll need one."

  • Wow!

"I simply can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was with this apartment. From the first contact to our goodbyes last Sunday, everything was simply top notch! I strongly recommend this property for anyone planning a visit to New York City! Needed a perfect place to take my Mom for her 70th B-Day, and I simply could not have made a better choice. Mr. Wick was spot on in all his efforts. He met me at my taxi upon arrival and told me everything I needed to know about getting around and the apartment itself. The apartment is perfectly set up and VERY comfortable. You have EVERYTHING you need. Loved the fact the subway was so close by, plus a very nice supermarket, McDonalds (for those quick snack needs), and tons of really nice restaurants if you don't want to go all the way back downtown. The apartment was so incredibly quiet at night it was frankly unbelievable. After staying in downtown Manhattan for years at hotels, I will NEVER go anywhere but here from now on. Trust me, you will love this place and the MANY conviences. Not to mention the VERY fair price. You can be from the apartment to Time Square in around 20 minutes, so trust me, this place is VERY accessible. Also, you are right on the 1 subway line which pretty much takes you anywhere you want to go in Manhattan. Also, LOVE how safe the neighborhood was. My Mom and I walked around in the evenings nightly to go to dinner after dark and it was no problem at all. Only thing I would warn you about is your second or third floor apartment involve some stairs, so if you have someone elderly involved it may be a bit of a consideration. My Mom is 70 and she was able to handle them pretty easily, but just don't want it to come as a big surprise to anyone. On our last morning, Mr. Wick arranged a taxi for us and even sat outside on the front stoop with us chatting until our taxi arrived. Simply put, if you want a perfect place to stay for your New York getaway, look no further! I almost hate to give my honest review as you will feel the same way I do and want to keep the place to yourself! : )"
