  • Small but adequate apartment, conveniently located

"The owners, Linda and Steve, greeted us on arrival and familiarized us with the first floor apartment. We were to spend 8 active days seeing as much of New York as possible, so we were not looking for much more than a bed and a shower. However, we were quite pleased with the homey and comfortable atmosphere - even the Murphy bed was fine. Linda had stocked the place with candy and snacks, everything was clean and there were plenty of towels, linens, etc. The location is less than half a block from Central Park, and only a block and a half from the subway, (which means easy access to just about everything once you get the hang of it - we went to Ground Zero, Broadway, the Village and Brooklyn with no problems). The A/C kept us cool, (which suited us as NYC was having somewhat of a heat wave!) The neighborhood is great, and we had no problems whatsoever. We would stay again if possible, and would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to any couple looking for a serviceable, handy place to stay for a weekend or a week while exploring Manhattan or all of New York City. Thanks, Linda and Steve, for your hospitality!"

  • Beautiful brownstone perfect for us!

"Wow, what a find! Darlyn has a wonderful property to offer! At first I was unsure about staying in Harlem, but it was a last minute trip and Darlyn responded to me first! Thank goodness she did! I found out that I love Harlem and I loved staying in a neighborhood rather than in Times Square as I've done in the past! The place itself is very spacious, the bedroom is lovely with high ceilings and a dreamy bed. The pull out twin beds are very comfortable as well. I am PICKY, people. The kitchen was beautiful and well appointed, everything one would need! Linens were Turkish cotton and smelled fresh and clean, which is actually rare. Bathroom is small, but the water pressure is great and I used the floor to ceiling mirror in the bedroom to get ready, so that didn't matter to me. There's a fan, extra comforters, a rolling cart for groceries, air conditioning that works fantastically. Door dead bolts which I liked. The neighborhood is wonderful with coffee shops, delis, restaurants, grocery stores, you're right by the 1 subway line which takes you everywhere from the village to battery park to Columbia. People are friendly and I never felt unsafe with my children. It's a family feel in the building as well. I imagine coming again in the fall with the crisp weather and being so cozy at this special place. I fell in love :) Don't hesitate to visit this place. Such a gem!"
