  • Lovely Studio Flat convenient to Central Park

"This is a great place to stay convenient to central park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and high-end shopping. The studio is nicely decorated, with great tv and wifi. Subway to Brooklyn Bridge, City hall the Staue of Libert ferries a short walk away. the area is nice and quiet. Hara was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. we would definitely recommend this to our friends when visiting New York"

  • The location of our apartment rental was ideal for easy access to Manhattan

"The view from Long Island City is better than the view when staying in Manhattan. The subway station is only a couple blocks away and being one stop from Grand Central provides access to any destination in Manhattan. Staying in an area where New Yorkers live as opposed to staying in an area where tourists travel is a big plus. It was very calming to arrive back into Long Island City after the crowds and stresses of Manhattan."

  • Great Location and Charm

"Our family stayed for six nights in early March and had a really wonderful time! The location is excellent - fairly quiet for the city, subway access is close by, and there are two great little grocery stores around the block. We felt like real residents of NYC! We stayed in the Madison Suite. The beds were comfortable, the kitchenette was perfect for our needs (breakfast and snacks), and the view was great. The staff was unobtrusive but friendly and accessible. When I had a question, I texted a manager and she got right back to me. The only minor drawback for me in staying at this charming old house was the water pressure. Sometimes the shower would divert back to the tub faucet while showering - I think it was when too many users in other units were showering at the same time? Maybe installing a different kind of shower diverter would fix this? It only happened a few times in the six nights we were there, if it had happened more often I would have contacted a manager. Considering it's a very old house, for the price, charm, and location, I considered it a minor issue. I would stay there again for sure!"

  • We had a wonderful stay.

"The apartment was just lovely. it was very clean and pleasant. The only thing that wasn't quite perfect was the air conditioning unit. It didn't really cool the place as well as we'd hoped, but it was fine. The location is especially a find. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants and Museum Mile and easy access to the subway. Very safe neighborhood. Our hostess was very helpful and responded quickly to our queries and was especially helpful with restaurant recommendations. The Home Away folks collected the security deposit as well as a couple of extra fees so that the final cost of the rental was quite a bit more than stated on the listing (ended up costing $250 per night). Also, the owner wanted us to fill out a form that asked for almost the same information we'd just given to Home Away, and asked for a security deposit, saying our deposit had not been paid, when it had. This made it confusing as to whether the owner wanted a second deposit, which we wouldn't have done. It was resolved, but it was a bit confusing.Seemed as though the owner and Home Away were not communicating well."
