  • Charming, convenient studio great for single or couple

"My husband and I spent five nights at this lovely brownstone and had a wonderful experience. The place is very clean and well decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower worked great. The kitchen is well-appointed, although does not have an oven. This did not matter to us as we ate out at one of the wonderful area restaurants each night. The hosts were easy to work with and friendly. We definitely plan on staying here again. Of note, anyone staying here needs to be mobile in that the stairwell may difficult for some people to navigate. Also, if you need it super cold, the air conditioner may not be strong enough during a hot spell. We turned on the overhead fan, however, and were fine."

  • Convenient, Clean- Great Location

"Traveled with my 18 year old daughter, her friend and a friend of mine - we had plenty of room in the apartment. The property is a great location for navigating around NYC. Just a few blocks from Starbucks, great Italian restaurants, grocery store, subway and Central Park. The apartment is spacious and clean and the court yard is nice. Livia is so nice and so easy to work with, and has great recommendations about the area. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks Livia!"

  • Quiet apartment in great Upper West neighborhood

"Because there are few reviews of this on VRBO (log book in apartment shows many rentals), I've included a few extra details.  Bottom line: we will stay here again. The apartment is offered by a management company.  Although this likely increases the price, the assistance offered in regards to email, telephone and the set-up and maintenance of the apartment is a good tradeoff. This apartment in the back of the second floor of a brownstone is located in a toney and quiet residential Westside neighborhood with very convenient access to transportation, shopping and restaurants. No street  noise whatsoever. The floor plan itself is small but  efficient (the pictures on the website are accurate).  A big plus in summer are the two  quiet AC units: one  in the  main room /kitchenette area and one in the  small  bedroom.  They are more than adequate. (I don't know about cold weather heating.)  The supply of  small items had hits and misses. The bedroom and living room, the latter with its small barstool dining table,  are  excellent spaces to spend the few hours you will stay in the apartment. Although the appliances in the kitchenette are good, the counter space for food preparation is very small. While toasting bread, making an omelet on the 4 burner cooktop, boiling a cup of  water or preparing a frozen dinner (yuck) in the  microwave is simple, preparing a more involved meal is not easy. The cabinets over the counter are very high: you need a step stool (supplied) to access beyond the first shelf. These last few comments on the kitchenette may not be applicable to many renters. We found it a minor inconvenience.  It's a great place to stay.  We will surely come back to stay here."

  • Spacious apartment in a great location

"My husband and I had stayed in this apartment for a month five years ago and were delighted to find it available again for a three-month stay. Ideal location for museums (Metropolitan, Museum of Natural History (2 blocks away), the Guggenheim, etc. Lincoln Center is a 20-minute walk. The area is noted for its restaurants (e.g., Kefi's, Sarabeth's) and Zabar's famous grocery is a block and a half away. Three bedrooms plus a pull-out sofa means plenty of accommodation for kids and any relatives who want to visit you in New York. A sense of spaciousness with high ceilings and a long hallway that runs the length of the apartment. Big closets and other storage space. Easy recycling and garbage disposal. Does not face the street, so is pretty quiet for a place in such a bustling location. Modern kitchen."
