  • Lovely older home

"Was greeted promptly by Alicia and her son Jack. She gave us a quick run-through of everything, including her helpful table top book. She stayed just long enough to get us going, then left us to our vacation bliss. The home is a lovely older home. If you do not love the smell of old wood, creaking awesome stairs, or a private secluded lot, this is not the house for you. Otherwise, enjoy your stay in this awesome family home. Alicia was receptive to the "just right" level, and when we had to contact her, she was speedy to respond. We actually had more towels than we thought we would, with plenty of TP and kitchen essentials. We left some half and half packets for the next guests! The property was very clean. This house is in easy walking distance to the American Falls and related restaurants, casinos and sights. An easy drive to the Canadian side can be had from here as well. Thanks for letting us share in this lovely home."

  • Just what the Dr ordered!

"Stayed at the Butterfield Cottage with my two pets for six days for peace & relaxation. The only thing I heard were the birds and the waves; it was very peaceful. Everything was provided from cooking utensils to bathroom essentials. Stayed within the boundaries so not problems from the neighbors. This was just what I needed! Will definitely stay again."

  • Summer Cottage

"The lake cottage is everything you would expect when staying on Lake Ontario. The cottage and amenities are exactly as described. I only gave a 4 star, because my family and I only used the comfortable cottage to sleep in. We spent 90% of our time at our family cottage down the road and visiting all the wonderful sights of the Niagara region. I would recommend the cottage to anyone, and would use it again for my next family visit."

  • Great property for taking your kids!

"We had a great time here. Property was ideal for kids and relaxation. House is well equipped with anything you could possibly need during your stay. We had a family of swans stop by for a visit. The kids loved going out and feeding them bread. We had a tree frog come down the chimney one morning and we got a real kick out of that experience. We took him and put him back outside. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The only thing that kept me from giving the property 5 stars was how clean it was when we got there. The floors needed a thorough scrubbing and the place has cob webs and a lot of dusty corners. In all honesty, I'm a clean freak, so very few places I stay could live up to my expectations, but even my husband said something. I would also warn about the gnats this time of year. They were brutal at night. Keep the lights low and the doors closed unless you like cleaning up lots of little dead bugs every day. It's part of life on the lake. Try to make the best of it. The owner and her maintenance people are wonderful and I highly recommend this as a great vacation spot for a family with children. My kids were in heaven. The steps down into the lake were a real plus too. My kids loved swimming & playing in the lake and the large yard. We enjoyed nights by the fire pit and star gazing. The sunsets are gorgeous and so are the sunrises. Make sure you grocery shop before you settle in. The nearest grocery stores take a while to get to. There is a gas station/convenience store that sells beer near by, but it's expensive. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!"
