  • Home away from home

"The house was great, it was a hot week and we enjoyed the air conditioning, very quiet but close to every thing, two great resturants, Dick & Jenny's- and village inn, 3 minutes away . The house is very clean and large, tv, wifi work great as well as cell phones . It truly felt like home away from home. Niagara Falls and buffalo is only 15 minutes. You have to go anchor bar, to get the original buffalo wings, pearl street grill, for, beef on weck. Also bison baseball is a treat. Getting in to Canada is very easy , a trip to Niagara on the lake, beautiful little town with miles of wineries. Worth the 30 mile trip. Kim was wonderful to work with , and I would go next year."

  • Perfect for a Big Family

"We were 8 siblings; of which 7 were with spouse. We drove all the way from Queens, New York and arrived late afternoon. Most of us had just arrived from the Philippines. Owner was nice and was there waiting for us. The house was perfect for us all especially since it had enough bathrooms. Bedrooms were cozy and airconditioned. Every room in the house was clean. The dining room could fit all 15 of us! Place was in a quiet neighborhood. Parking at the back of the house was just right for our 3 vehicles. Kitchen had everything we needed; utensils, glassware, pots and pans. Bathroom towels supplied were adequate, clean and soft, and were of good quality. Hand soap though was a small piece and no shampoo as would have been in a hotel. High quality soft toilet papers were a plenty. Some lights in the dining and living room were either not working or had busted bulbs. Hand rail on the right side wall of the staircase to the 3rd floor though didnt seem attached well and strong enough so I cautioned everyone not to use it. Nevertheless, we liked the house and were really very happy and satisfied that we were able to find a nice place that could fit us all in comfortably. The house is now a part of our memories of our wonderful times together and surely it would be great if we could do it all over again in the same place! We also would like to commend Mark, who promptly returned our cash bond for the house in just a matter of days! And in behalf of the family, thank you very much Mark! We had a very pleasant stay!"

  • This is a charming cottage right on Lake Ontario.

"We stayed at this property from August 31st to September 4th and truly did enjoy it. I want to make that clear right up front. A fantastic location, easy to find and close to many attractions. There were however some issues that, had they been addressed before our arrival would have made the whole experience just a bit better. First issue we had were spiders! More than a normal home would expect and a true arachnephobic could not have stayed there. The other issue we had was cleanliness. On first entering there was an strong smell of mildew and stale house. This didn't bother me as mush as finding dirty dishes. Specifically a small frying pan on the top of the stove, obviously used & left and the crock pot was not thoroughly cleaned. A thorough deep cleaning of the whole cottage would have significantly improved everything. And finally there were often whiffs of septic. It might not even have been from this property because there were only two of us there and we were gone most all day so I don't think we were stressing the system to any great degree. I do not want this review to seem too negative because we truly did love the place and we Would go back again. (with bug spray!) So to leave this on a positive note here are the Good things! WiFi worked Fantastic!!! This is a high priority for me. The location was fantastic! Extraordinary views of the sunset and sunrise every day. There was plenty of comfortable seating outside so that I was able to entertain my sister and her family one afternoon. The fire pit was put to good use and we loved that experience! The beds were very comfortable and it was nice that we didn't have to share a room (an improvement over a hotel). We traveled to Canada on two separate days, once to Niagara Falls and the bird and butterfly conservatories and once to visit Niagara On The Lake. Both were relatively short drives away through truly lovely rural settings. Another day we drove along the coast and found lighthouses to visit and take pictures of. The next door neighbors were wonderful people that we enjoyed getting to know! If this were a rating system from 1-10 with 10 being the best ever, I would give this place an 8 because all the good and great things easily cancel out the few negatives and I only mention them so the owners can know what needs improving!! Would I stay here again... yes! Would I recommend to family or friends? Yes, I already have."
