  • Wonderful Get Away!

"The cottage is right on the St. Lawrence River on a quiet alcove in Blind Bay. Watching ships from around the world go by, enjoying wild life in the area, kayaking... what could be better? It is close to Alexandria Bay and Ogdensburg (NY) or Brockville (CA) for restaurants or if you need to shop for food or supplies. About an hour and a half to Ottawa for a great day trip. Gary and Patty hire someone to clean the cottage between visitors, which I so appreciate. Nothing worse than entering a place for vacation and having to spend hours cleaning up from the last occupants, or ending vacation by having to clean. Thanks again for a great week - location, view, clean, kayaks!"

  • Scratch Pad - Charming and comfortable cottage

"Our family group gathered for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the island. The cottage was perfectly located, close to everything we needed. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The wrap around porch was great for lounging and enjoying the ambiance. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. It was great having the washer and dryer to avoid hauling lots of dirty laundry back home. Matt was very welcoming on our arrival and advised us of local attractions that we should take in. Everyone we met on the island were so friendly and shared the history and unique features of this charming place. And everyone knew Scratch Pad! Seems like we shared a piece of history for that week and we will definitely be back again."

  • SPACE!! Better than expected. Couldn't be happier.

"My family loves to rent vacation homes. This one was the best bang for your buck! It's much larger than expected. It's more beautiful than expected. There were more bathrooms than expected. The beds were more comfortable than expected. And there were more activities than expected. The air conditioning was great since it was hot while we were there. It kept the whole house very cool. We brought paddle boards, kayaks and tubes for the lake. The water was perfect. The beach is full of rocks instead of sand but it wasn't much of a bother. It made the water very clear. The beach is also conveniently close to the house. We spent a lot of time on the lake, on the patio outside, and around the fire pit once night fell. The kitchen has everything you'd need. There are 3 refrigerators total, just in case you are housing a football team for the week. There's enough towels for a football team too. The awesome owner, Sis, brought us an extra basketball (since there's a hoop on the tennis court) and a bunch of pamphlets for plenty of activities and restaurants in the area. My guests and I wish we had more time there. I usually like to go to a new house every time but I would visit this one repeatedly. Highly recommend."
