  • Perfect

"Our family stayed at the cottage for a week. All was perfect. We had a family reunion on the island and had families staying in other cottages and while each family member loved the uniqueness of his or her own cottage, all said ours was PERFECT and were a bit envious!"

  • Very relaxing and enjoyable week

"It was our first time in this home, and we enjoyed it a great deal. The location offers an excellent view of the river, and the home is in very good condition and clean. Plenty of sleeping space with several pull out sleeper sofas. The screened in porch allowed us to sit outside in the evening while protected from the bugs. The water was cool, but we enjoyed swimming although the ladder can be a little challenging to reach getting out of the water. Our boys enjoyed some fishing for small fish off the dock as well. Walking to Clayton is a bit of a hike, but not a problem if you are not in a rush. Also, we were fortunate with the weather. It was a beautiful week. Finally, we appreciated the responsiveness of George when we had a question. he and Scott were both helpful and responsive, and we felt like their primary concern was to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy the week. I can tell you that this is not true for other locations we have rented in the past."

  • Great cottage!

"Very quiet location with plenty of room. Comfortable king bed in the master bedroom which has a sliding door leading to a screened in porch and a full bathroom. Three other bedrooms and two additional twin beds that overlook the scenery. It was very hot all week with temps in the high 80's and heat index in the 90's, but the ceiling fans and the constant breeze through cottage kept it comfortable. There is a canoe and a kayak to take out to the sand bar for a swim (bring your lunch)! Be sure to make use of the gas grill on the large deck overlooking the Bay! I had friends over for a cookout and they wanted to come back in the Fall...maybe it will happen! Owner is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with."

  • SPACE!! Better than expected. Couldn't be happier.

"My family loves to rent vacation homes. This one was the best bang for your buck! It's much larger than expected. It's more beautiful than expected. There were more bathrooms than expected. The beds were more comfortable than expected. And there were more activities than expected. The air conditioning was great since it was hot while we were there. It kept the whole house very cool. We brought paddle boards, kayaks and tubes for the lake. The water was perfect. The beach is full of rocks instead of sand but it wasn't much of a bother. It made the water very clear. The beach is also conveniently close to the house. We spent a lot of time on the lake, on the patio outside, and around the fire pit once night fell. The kitchen has everything you'd need. There are 3 refrigerators total, just in case you are housing a football team for the week. There's enough towels for a football team too. The awesome owner, Sis, brought us an extra basketball (since there's a hoop on the tennis court) and a bunch of pamphlets for plenty of activities and restaurants in the area. My guests and I wish we had more time there. I usually like to go to a new house every time but I would visit this one repeatedly. Highly recommend."
