"Jim and Cheryl Navarra view their Mink Island guest cottage as a blessing to share with others and a place to make lasting memories. These two sentiments come shining through in everything they did to make our stay on the Island truly special in every way.
The St. Lawrence River/1,000 Islands region is my daughter's favorite spot on earth, so we decided to celebrate her 13th birthday at Jim and Cheryl's little slice of heaven this past weekend, along with five of her friends. This cottage is absolute perfection -- location, decor, and floor plan couldn't be any better. The girls and their chaperones enjoyed meals on the beautiful wraparound porch and inside, the spacious loft and twin pirate bedroom upstairs gave the girls their own space to enjoy. The two downstairs bedrooms were roomy, comfortable, and sleeping was a joy with the River's cross-breezes. Accented by gorgeous barn wood, soaring tin ceilings, and decorative touches, the 1,500 square foot cottage was plenty of space for our group of seven. We can't say enough about the excellent sunset views and many hours were spent on the cottage's deck/boat dock enjoying the pristine scenery surrounding Mink Island.
Jim and Cheryl's home is steps away and had we needed anything (we really didn't), our hosts were more than happy to help. They are a gracious couple who have built something extraordinary I hope many others will enjoy for years to come.
We also highly recommend a trip to Alexandria Bay to visit Jim and Cheryl's gourmet popcorn shop, Nav's. They have put their heart and soul into this unique business and that labor of love is evident in their outstanding products. We sampled way too many flavors to count, and all were delicious!
We can't wait for the next trip to the River and Mink Island! Thank you to the Navarras for helping us make memories that will certainly last a lifetime!"
