  • Wonderful Stay

"I stayed at the Mayeri's apartment for a week in November. It was such a perfect "home away from home." The apartment is so comfortable-- a good size and nicely furnished. It is really well-appointed, with the washer/dryer, great kitchen and even a private patio! There were also so many thoughtful extras: a clothes drying rack, umbrellas, hair dryer, space heater. It's just a few blocks to two different subways so it's very easy to get downtown. The owners were so gracious and welcoming! The other thing is that even for a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. I've already booked for another stay."

  • Property was just as adverised. No surprises

"House was very clean. Location was just perfect off of main road and quiet. Amenities were all working and up to date. Rental agent (Jenifer Crosby) was excellent. Very helpful and friendly."

  • Amazing location

"The apartment was very homey, comfortable and quite spacious by NY standards. The location was unbelievable. Right in the heart of downtown, a quick walk to the lower east side, east and west village, SOHO, NOLITA, little italy, china town etc. The F train was close but for many destinations you would have to walk a bit or transfer trains. Haim was friendly and thorough with instructions to help maximize your comfort. The apartment was equipped with most everything you need for a stay in the city. The flat is just off of houston street, which is quite busy, yet it was very quiet inside. You could hear a little street noise on the main floor(i am a very light sleeper and it did not disturb me) but the downstairs was totally quiet. Overall this was a great find in a great location at a great price. The only slightly inconvenient aspect of this apartment is that it is not a 'true' 2 bedroom. Most NY apartments i saw for rent were not real 2 bedrooms either. This apartment has 2 floors, each serving as a separate living space and separated by a spiral staircase, there is no door. The upstairs has the main entrance, the kitchen and the bathroom. The downstairs is more private and isolated from the street noise, but you can hear everything happening upstairs very clearly and sometimes quite loud. This was not a problem for us and we made it work but I thought i would explain it since it wasn't exactly clear to me before my arrival. Who ever in your group stays downstairs will hear everything happening upstairs and whoever in your group stays upstairs will not have much privacy if anyone needs the kitchen, bathroom, or front door. Again not a problem for us but good to know. Thanks again to Haim for sharing his historic little gem in a prime location."

  • Not so new

"The description of this property is not accurate! This is not a brand new cottage as the description claims, there is obvious wear and tear especially in the kitchen area. There was a cabinet door under the sink that keep falling off the hinge, sometimes the microwave would turn on sometimes not, it was advertised that the refrigerator had an ice maker, did not. The gas grill was in terrible condition, which the owner did replace while we were there after we called the owner and asked him to. The towels were about thread bare with only three washcloths available. The cleanliness also was not satisfactory. We only stay in VRBO properties while traveling and this was the first property we were not pleased with."
