  • Wonderful June trip to Montreat

"My wife and I had a wonderful week in this historic Montreat Cottage and definitely plan to stay here again. It is in a very quiet and peaceful area near the Conference Center. The front porch was our favorite place to sit and look out at the shaded yard and mountain scenery. We love Black Mountain and Asheville, but found it difficult to leave the house because of the pleasant feeling of this home and the immediate area. It is easy to walk around Montreat and there is very little traffic. We saw deer in a neighbor's yard on several occasions. It was a very relaxing getaway!"

  • Amazing romantics getaway ON THE RIVER

"I absolutely loved this place and I will be back again very soon! I loved that it was a hop skip and a jump away from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Also super close to Burntshirt Vineyards and Black Mountain which has the best brunch place on the entire east coast, Louise's. That is a 20 minute drive from the cottage but I highly recommend that you try. The cottage is right off the main road which I love and it overlooks the river which is so very beautiful. The hot tub is amazing, private and secluded. It is on the deck right above the river. I just love it. The inside of the cottage was small but cozy. The bed was super comfy and the owner was very easy to deal with. We will be back!"

  • Remarkable mountaintop cabin

"This beautiful, well-kept cabin is nestled into the woods atop a mountain, about a mile or so from the continental divide. Although it does not have a long range view, you are undeniably in the mountains, in the midst of the wild, yet just 20 minutes from the popular destinations of Black Mountain, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. I was there for a week, partly work and partly vacation. All was clean, fresh and well appointed with everything you could need. If it weren't for my locking the key in the cabin, I likely would never have even needed to meet the hosts. Buck was very friendly and helpful. Mary Beth was always quick to respond to my communications before/after, extremely helpful and professional. I'm sure I'll be back."

  • very good condo in a beautiful rustic setting

"We loved it. The condo is very comfortable and well equipped and the woodsy setting made for cooler afternoons under an umbrella of oak leaves - sitting on the decks was pleasant. Bed was comfy and large, showers worked well, kitchen had plenty of furnishings to be able to cook/eat in and for a 900 sq.ft. area it was roomy. Rumbling Bald itself offers so much the only requirement is a good place to call home for your time there and this condo proved to meet our needs very well. I will caution however that the TV reception is spotty with a lot of interference and the wi-fi is slow but these are certainly a result of being in the mountains - we got by with it as it was. We plan to go back next year."
