  • Wonderful escape!

"We stayed here for Family Weekend at Appalachian State University, where our son attends school. It was so nice that we didn't even go to the ballgame Saturday! We had so much fun just hiking the trails and enjoying Beech Mountain, that we wanted to stay there and not deal with the traffic in Boone. The condo was well appointed, obviously loved, and the bonus was the lovely art and attention to detail by the owner. Plenty of magazines, brochures, and a well stocked kitchen for making the homemade meals my son wanted. Will return."

  • Great home in a lovely location!

"Our girls trip to the beach got cut short because of hurricane Matthew and we searched for a place to spend the last half of our week. So glad we found Dan's Chalet! It was clean and cozy, had everything we needed, it was way better stocked than the beach house we had stayed in. It's close to trails to hike and restaurants and activities. Dan is very nice and easy to get ahold of if you have questions. The Internet was a little spotty while we were there, but it's the mountains and it wasn't a big deal to us. We had a great time and would definitely come back!"

  • Great house and location

"21 of us spent the weekend in Beech Mountain. House is as advertised and was clean and ready for us. Kitchen is very well stocked and there is a closet full of games and puzzles to enjoy. You can literally walk to the ski lift from the house. We enjoyed the spring time in the mountains - Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Blowing Rock. We shopped several times at Fred's in Beech Mtn and twice are pizza across from the house at Brick Oven Pizzaria. Hope we can go back sometime and this house is available!"

  • Loved the house! Great location and amenities

"We drove up from Florida to enjoy the snow over MLK weekend with our boys (11&12 yrs old). The house was beautiful and had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and loft (loved having 3 bathrooms too!). The furniture, bedding and towels were of great quality. The décor looks rich and very stylish, never would guess it is a rental or that it allows dogs. The home was well stocked with items to get us started (paper goods, wood, etc). It was record cold (-12 degrees and windy) and the home was as warm as we wanted it to be in each room and well insulated and quiet. We loved that it was not a busy road with a lot of traffic, and enjoyed taking the dog out and walking down the road to the slopes to meet the boys. It really is a short walk to the end of the block, and you can hike down a little trail and jump onto the slopes if you are experienced and comfortable on that terrain (would not recommend for new skiers or small children). Kitchen was well stocked with pots, dinnerware, glasses and all the utensils we needed- even when we had another family of 4 join us for dinner/lunch. Plenty of room for the kids to play, watch movies or just relax. It is a 5 minute drive to the Beech parking lot, and 2 mins in the other direction from Freds Mercantile and the sledding hill. Perfect location and easy to get in and out w/out 4 wheel drive- even when we had snow and ice. Darrell was very accommodating, friendly and helpful giving directions, recommendations for eating and shopping and having the home ready for us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this rental. One of the best we've ever rented- no complaints or recommendations to change a thing!"
