  • Great house and location

"21 of us spent the weekend in Beech Mountain. House is as advertised and was clean and ready for us. Kitchen is very well stocked and there is a closet full of games and puzzles to enjoy. You can literally walk to the ski lift from the house. We enjoyed the spring time in the mountains - Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Blowing Rock. We shopped several times at Fred's in Beech Mtn and twice are pizza across from the house at Brick Oven Pizzaria. Hope we can go back sometime and this house is available!"

  • Very nice, spacious house with a view to the mountains

"We stayed at this house over Thanksgiving with extended family and were pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. I would encourage the owner to post more pictures of the bedrooms and surrounding views because the pictures don't do the property justice. The bedrooms were all nice, with up-to-date furniture in good shape. The master bedroom had a large bathroom with double-sink vanity, a walk-in closet, as well as a separate toilet/shower. Hardwood floors upstairs and a large fridge, convection microwave, nice dishwasher, and pantry. The oven was huge, large enough for the turkey and four sides, so we had an easier time making Thanksgiving dinner at this house than we would have at our own house! The kitchen itself could use some updating with the counters, but that's mostly aesthetics, and the kitchen was sufficiently stocked with utensils. We were able to seat 11 around the large dining room table by adding the small kitchen table to the end, and there were still 2 folding chairs we could have used. And, yes, we saw the deer in our yard every day! If there had been snow, we would have had a blast sledding on the golf course, but had there been snow, we probably wouldn't have made it to the house. We have never stayed at Beech Mountain, though we've stayed in a dozen houses over the past 2 decades up in the Boone area, so this was a first. My big surprise was how far up the mountain we went before dropping back down the other side to get to the house, which made leaving the house to "run into" Boone a lengthy excursion. It would certainly be a perfect house to stay in if we were to do winter sports up there. John, the owner, was a great help from the beginning, always quick to answer my emails and questions. When my elderly mother got to the house first and couldn't figure out the key lock, she called him and left a message. He was very helpful in explaining to her how to get into the house. Have nothing but good things to say about John and his helpfulness!"

  • Wonderful Vacation in the Mountains

"We had an incredible week on Beech Mt. The house was wonderful . It was everything your listing said it was. It is roomy, very clean and well maintained, comfortable, and has all the amenities one could ask for in a vacation home. Sitting on the deck, sipping wine and watching the sunsets over the Blue Ridge was like a dream. We will definitely be back, not just to the area, but to this specific home. The area is beautiful with lots to do, great restaurants, cultural events at Appalachian State, and magnificent views at every turn. This is your destination if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city - or the suburbs - and have a relaxing vacation."
