  • Great week of skiing!

"We love coming for a week to ski. Mid week is so nice with so few other skiers, the slopes are totally open. The high speed quad at Beech Mountain adds a lot to the number of runs you can do. All slopes were open, and we had 2 gorgeous days with bright blue sky and all the snow guns were off - thanks Beech Mtn :) We loved the house being right on the slopes; this made it very easy to take our little children out for just a few runs twice a day, or just let them go with their big siblings. Having 3 king bedrooms is nice for 3 families. There is still plenty of sleeping room for 10+ children in 4 other bedrooms. It is nice having the second family room downstairs so kids could watch a movie at night while adults could visit upstairs. The ski locker room is really nice to keep all the wet cold ski equipment confined in one area. Will definitely go again. Loved it."

  • Great experience!

"We stayed at this house last weekend with a group of friends, and I can't say enough great things about our experience. The owners were easy to work with- checking in with us prior to our visit and answering any questions we had. 1 foot of snow fell on our drive up to Beech Mountain from Charlotte and another foot of snow fell during our stay. It was absolutely beautiful! I would highly recommend 4 wheel drive if you are planning to use this home anytime in January or February. You may not need it if there isn't much snow, but in the case of a heavy storm- you will need 4 wheel drive to get to the house and up the drive way. The drive way is steep, but its paved and the owners had arranged for someone to plow the driveway prior to our departure on Sunday. The roads up to house were well marked, and the directions provided by the owners were spot on. The roads were not cleared during the storm, but were cleared by the next day. The house is designed well with two large hangout areas. There is cable, wireless, and we even had great cell phone service (with verizon). The kitchen was well stocked, and the gas fire places were amazing! The house is very modern and updated with a rustic cozy feel. The bed we slept in was more comfortable than our bed at home. Most of our group skied on Saturday and it was a few minutes drive away. If you need anything during your stay, may sure to visit Fred's. I would definitely stay here again!"

  • Loved the house! Great location and amenities

"We drove up from Florida to enjoy the snow over MLK weekend with our boys (11&12 yrs old). The house was beautiful and had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and loft (loved having 3 bathrooms too!). The furniture, bedding and towels were of great quality. The décor looks rich and very stylish, never would guess it is a rental or that it allows dogs. The home was well stocked with items to get us started (paper goods, wood, etc). It was record cold (-12 degrees and windy) and the home was as warm as we wanted it to be in each room and well insulated and quiet. We loved that it was not a busy road with a lot of traffic, and enjoyed taking the dog out and walking down the road to the slopes to meet the boys. It really is a short walk to the end of the block, and you can hike down a little trail and jump onto the slopes if you are experienced and comfortable on that terrain (would not recommend for new skiers or small children). Kitchen was well stocked with pots, dinnerware, glasses and all the utensils we needed- even when we had another family of 4 join us for dinner/lunch. Plenty of room for the kids to play, watch movies or just relax. It is a 5 minute drive to the Beech parking lot, and 2 mins in the other direction from Freds Mercantile and the sledding hill. Perfect location and easy to get in and out w/out 4 wheel drive- even when we had snow and ice. Darrell was very accommodating, friendly and helpful giving directions, recommendations for eating and shopping and having the home ready for us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this rental. One of the best we've ever rented- no complaints or recommendations to change a thing!"

  • Family Ski Trip

"I have all good things to say about this Chalet except one thing. The cabin was very nice, great open living room with big fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, nice back yard and outside firepit and great location! The only problem we had when we were there was the TV and sound! We were there during the Superbowl, so we definetly were looking forward to watching the game on the flat screen! Well unfortunately, the surround sound system never worked, the TV wasn't HD and the TV volume only played at a very low level which you could barely here! So needless to say our Superbowl watching experience was not a good one! Especially since it was my favorite team and they lost! If they can fix this issue, the Chalet is a perfect place for anybody!"
