  • Great home. Relaxing and secluded location.

"Perfect for travelers looking for a high end home in Beech Mountain. It's a 45+ minute drive to Boone so if you want easy access to the amenities there, choose a location closer. But if you want luxury in the mountains, great hiking, peace and quiet to relax and easy access to the town of Banner Elk... which has plenty of good dining for a long weekend trip... then you won't go wrong staying here."

  • Last minute Fall break trip

"Property was as described and is priced appropriately. Very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Loved the location next to Mountain stream and hiking trail. Very peaceful and quiet. Patrick (owner) was very accommodating on short notice. Some of furnishings were a bit dated, but everything was functional and essentially a non issue for us. Plenty of hot water for morning showers. Would rent again without hesitation."

  • Great relaxing home away from home

"We were very impressed with the property. The view is great from the back balcony and the home is tucked away down a quiet residential street. We saw many deer wandering around the area in the evenings. The property is just a short drive to the top of Beech Mountain and few more minutes down into Banner Elk. We found great places to eat each day in Banner Elk, from fine dining to casual dining. We also found the home conveniently located near a number of the better hiking options such as grandfather mountain trail, profile trail, and the Boone fork trail. We found the home very clean, well maintained, and ready for us upon arrival. The home was very well stocked with everything needed to make it your home away from home. All you need to do is bring / buy food, if you plan to cook. I don't think the photos do the place justice. The great room is quite nice with a beautiful high wood ceiling, large windows, and a large wood burning fireplace in the middle. The other rooms are well appointed as well. We greatly enjoyed relaxing in the evenings to a nice cracking fire (chopped fire wood provided by the owner) and a good movie after hiking all day. They have a good amount of DVDs and have all the premium movie channels as well. There is also a nice fire pit with lots of chairs behind the house. We were not able to use this as a front blew in early during our trip. It rained all day the first day and was much too windy the rest of the weekend. We have no complaints. My only comment is that the road to the house is not paved nor is the parking area by the entrance to the home. It rained quite a bit the first day and the areas got quite muddy. Our vehicle did not get stuck, but it was a bit messy going up and down the road to and from the closest paved road. I would definitely stay here again the next time we visit the Beech Mountain / Banner Elk area."

  • Beautiful house in a fantastic location

"We have been staying at Bridget's for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games for several years. She has been continually upgrading it inside, turning it into a real gem with beautiful hardwood floors, a huge stone fireplace, new black kitchen counters added this year, and many fine details. Everything is in excellent condition. The house is situated at the corner of two quiet dirt roads, overlooking a mountain stream. It is sheltered and cool in summer and close to recreational facilities and the town center of Beech Mountain, with its restaurants and other facilities. It has four bedrooms, sleeping eight. Downstairs if you open a window you can sleep to the sound of the brook. It also has balconies on two levels overlooking the stream with ornamental iron tables and chairs for breakfast Al fresco."
