  • Great place to stay in a beautiful little town.

"The house is all you could ask for. It is far enough from Asheville to appreciate quiet time but close enough to see the places that you want to visit. I could have never left Black Mountain and been perfectly happy. The owner is great and extremely accommodating."

  • Great for large family and a good time

"We stayed at the Wildcat Lodge during the week of July 4th and had a blast. The lodge is a great place to come home to. Indeed it feels very home-like. We had 10 adults and 4 children and had plenty of room. The lodge is built with beautiful detail and yet has a little wear and tear that made it so we didn't feel like we had to walk on egg shells. It feels lived in and we enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a privilege to stay in such a lovely place. We never met anyone associated with the property. All arrangements and payments were made online and everything went as promised; including the refund of our deposit. Our favorite parts of the home were the deck with the little fire-pit on it and the game room. We all sat around the fire most evenings talking and taking in the night sky. We liked the location being about 30-40 minutes from Asheville and up in a gated community; albeit, not crowded with homes. You only see a few other homes on your drive back to the lodge. You don't have a view, but the beauty of the home and the remote location make it worth it. There are plenty of views as you drive anywhere from here! Thank you for sharing this lodge with my family. We had a great time and hope to return! Mickey and Janice"

  • Great cabin in great location

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very convenient to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Stunning view from back porch. Finished basement with second TV an unexpected bonus. Two nice bedrooms on main floor, one upstairs; many bathrooms. Only downside in summer is to get main floor comfortable it's a bit cold in basement and a bit warm upstairs. All told, tho, a beautiful, well-stocked house that we'll likely return to."

  • Wonderful June trip to Montreat

"My wife and I had a wonderful week in this historic Montreat Cottage and definitely plan to stay here again. It is in a very quiet and peaceful area near the Conference Center. The front porch was our favorite place to sit and look out at the shaded yard and mountain scenery. We love Black Mountain and Asheville, but found it difficult to leave the house because of the pleasant feeling of this home and the immediate area. It is easy to walk around Montreat and there is very little traffic. We saw deer in a neighbor's yard on several occasions. It was a very relaxing getaway!"
