  • Amazing!!

"This was our second stay in Thunderstruck; the cabin is well worth any distance you may have to travel to stay in this truly wonderful cabin! The view is that peaceful and calming that you really won't want to leave. Be kind to yourself and spend time at Thunderstruck!!"

  • Promise i'll stay here again

"The wife and I had our daughter, her husband, and our 2 nieces on this trip. Most of our time was traveling the parkways, visiting the towns within 75 miles of the cabin and attempting to hike some of the shorter trails. Tired and wore out in the evenings returning to the cabin was great. Some of the easiest roads that we drove on the trip was the last 10 miles back to the cabin. If you have drove down here you will understand what I mean. The cabin was beautiful and very clean and well kept. We got groceries at town 9 miles away and was able to save a little money by cooking breakfast and supper in the fully equipped kitchen. Great little yard with a pond that helped wear the nieces on out in the evenings. Wrap around porch with ample seating so we all could sit out their and enjoy the evenings. The beds were very nice. My job involves answering a phone taking road complaints issues and it was very nice looking at my cell phone and not having any service. Did have a land line so we were able to keep in touch with family. Had WiFi at the house so we could keep up if we wanted to with the world events. The owners gave us all the information we needed to have a wonderful stay and I'll promise if I make the trip this way I'll be staying here again if it's not already rented out. Ďanny Clark. Very happy renter"

  • Fantastic mountain view

"Our 2 week stay at the Ponderosa was wonderful! We saw the elk almost every evening on Long Branch & Black Camp Gap Rds. The mountain view is perfect and watching the humming birds & chipmunks is always fun! Long Branch Rd. was rather challenging... although I drive a Jeep Wrangler, my boyfriend had a Chevy Malibu & had some trouble getting up the road. This was the 2nd time renting a cabin in Maggie Valley....it is a great area with easy access to Blue Ridge Pkwy. Visited Biltmore Estate in Asheville (a must-see!!), waterfall hike in Pisgah Nat'l Forest, Cataloochee Valley, & many scenic drives. Good restaurants: Frankie's, Joey's Pancake House, Frog's Leap (Waynesville), Andolini's & Southern Table. Definitely would like to visit again during "leaf season"!"

  • Great mountain getaway!

"Point of view was the perfect getaway for our group! Absolutely amazing view from inside and on the deck. The house felt larger than it looks in the photos and is clean/well maintained. Only warning would be the drive up to the house is steep and very curvy and the driveway is gravel/a little rough so I would recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. However, our friends Honda Accord was able to make it up, just with extra caution on the driveway. Absolutely loved this house, secluded and yet close to Brevard and great hiking locations! Thank you so much to the owners!"
