  • 2nd Time Staying!!

"These last 9 days have been awesome, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing! I love the sounds of nature. Only on the weekend did we hear a four wheeler or two go up the property near us. The chipmunks and birds drove one of our dogs nuts! She thinks she's a hunting dog but far from it. I brought my on pans to cook eggs and bacon in and some plastic storage bowls but other than that everything else is here. You need your paper products, laundry detergent, dish detergent, their is no dishwasher but yourself. That was even nice too. I cooked all three meals each day. I only do this on vacation, after working at home I'm ready to go out and eat and go to bed. Perfect weather this time of year 70's/50's. A few windows will open or have screens. One box fan. I would bring at least two more for the hotter months. I love the screen door on the front and wish they had one for the back door. Love the cool clean mountain air. I did bring a blow up queen mattress to put behind the futon in the living room. The dogs have to sleep with me. The bed at the house is plush and very comfortable and my husband slept well by himself! I love this area lots to see and do. The hot tub just received a new cover while we were here. Nice having the Internet, our Verizon cell phones didn't work at the house but did in downtown of Burnsville. The creeks and rivers are beautiful and plentious are this are. Grilling and relaxing is our kind of vacation. If you are looking for excitement like crowds and noise don't stay here. This is a place to rest away from it all! The simpler things in life are to be treasured. We will hopefully return in the winter of 2017. Thanks Brad & Erin!"

  • Good place for family reunion

"My large family stayed at this home and really enjoyed our time. Gorgeous views, spacious rooms for hanging out, and the house has several different levels, so kids can sleep in one section while adults are playing games and laughing in another. Liviu is really good with communication and always responds quickly to messages. That is a huge plus in my opinion. Pros: Big kitchens TONS of natural light Big outdoor deck with a metal fence Great view of mountains/golf course Quiet, peaceful environment A study and reading room for reflection or reading Lots of DVDs and some books Two kitchens on different levels, so food prep can happen quickly I have to nitpick to say negative things, and each guest has certain things that they care about or prefer, so these things may not even be an issue for other guests. Cons: -Steep sloped driveway (which can't be helped due to the terrain) may be scary for some drivers and difficult for unskilled manual transmission drivers -The steep roads driving up the mountain to the house were very taxing for 4-cylinder Camrys with even light cargo/few passengers, so we had to leave a few cars at the base of the mountain and use the SUVs for a few extra trips to ferry people up and down -The wifi was very inconsistent and not enough for internet usage, so computers/netflix/facebook/etc... were not an option. This house and location are a place you definitely would want to visit to get away from computers and the busyness of everyday life, but since a few of us are self-employed we were unable to do any of our admin/business upkeep work at the house and had to drive approx. 25 mins. for internet access. The mountains also blocked AT&T phone reception, so several of us were completely and hopelessly off the grid while at the house. Again, being in the home and away from everything was great and I treasure the memories we made at this beautiful place, but it was difficult to keep current with potential clients and work emergencies and such. -I think our family was one of the larger groups that have stayed here and so we used all the towels that were at the house. There is a good washer/dryer and laundry is no problem, but you may consider bringing a few extra towels is you have 15+ people in your party. -The bathrooms didn't have shower curtains, so shower water splashed onto the floor. That may be a European architectural thing, but it just necessitated an extra towel on the floor to catch that splashing"

  • Paradise in Mountain Air

"Our 3 day stay was simply amazing - everything from the well appointed and comfortable condo to the awesome mountain views and the cool mountain air. We enjoyed the great and picturesque golf course - hiking trails - the pool & hot tub and both on-site restaurants. Kristin was great and easy to work with planning our stay. Burnsville is a bit off the beaten path but does offer a growing things to do: Blind Squirrel Pub and Restaurant - Garden Deli and many scenic hikes. The town of Spruce Pine is a 30 minute drive away. There is a fantastic " farm to table" restaurant Knife & Fork that is well worth eating at. Mountain Air CC is a really classy and professional club and the service was spectacular and very friendly. We travel often and this is one of the best VRBO rentals that we have used. Highly recommended!"

  • SIMPLY THE BEST

"The NuWray Inn is THE BEST place for family or group gatherings! Our family rented the whole Inn for a family gathering and everyone loved it! The Innkeepers are cordial, welcoming and accommodating. This Inn is special in that all bedrooms are well-appointed and have a private bathroom. Our elderly family members found that the two handicap-accessible rooms were beautiful and met their needs. Cooking meals and eating together is big with our family, and this Inn is perfect for that. In the evenings, the dining room easily became a gathering place and game center that everyone enjoyed. Playing croquet and grilling steaks in the back yard was fun. The long row of rocking chairs on the front porch was everyone’s favorite place for our large family to talk with each other and enjoy each other and this beautiful Inn."
