  • Wonderful farm cottage

"My wife and I just spent 10 fantastic days in the very comfortable well maintained/updated “Happy Apple” farmhouse. It was exactly what we expected. A quiet and somewhat eclectic home that was “livable” for more than a weekend or couples days. Everyday, we had coffee on the front porch and in the evening a glass of wine on the rear deck. We enjoyed watching deer and occasionally wild turkeys in the pasture behind the house and found the hummingbirds a never ending source amusement. The country, farm like setting was a wonderful stress reliever. As stated in other reviews, the kitchen was well stocked and comfortable to work in. The owner, Karen, was a pleasure to work with. She responded to all my phone calls and emails promptly with ready answers and lots of local knowledge of the Burnsville area. If you’re looking for a quaint and quiet place to spend a couple of days or a couple weeks, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place than the “Happy Apple” farmhouse."

  • Maggie May I

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was remote but outstanding and exactly as pictured in the advertisements. Loved the cabin-a bit more remote than described-but great."

  • Great location in first town on the AT.

"This was our second year here. Melanie is great and even dropped off more linens and towels a few days into the stay. Some of the paint is peeling but the cabin is warm and spacious. It is 2 houses away from the AT trail head into Hot Springs. We got some cold weather but cooked marshmallows over the fire pit. Great porch and yard."

  • Relaxing weekend!

"We loved our relaxing weekend in this cozy cottage. The area is quiet so we could listen to the stream flowing just outside the door. We highly recommend a stay here if you like peace and quiet with quick access to Boone and Blowing Rock!"
