  • Beautiful House!! Perfect Location!!

"The house in Chimney Rock was perfect for our big group of friends! It had everything we needed and more! The big game room downstairs was great for the kids! The back deck was awesome to hang out and listen to the creek that is right next to the house. The location is right off the main road and very secluded. Highly recommend!"

  • Sad to leave

"We have enjoyed every minute of our stay at Lake Lure's Hide-a-way and are very sad to leave tomorrow. We are a family of 5 with kids age 9, 8, & 5 and not once did we hear "I'm bored" from any of them. The house is large enough that we are not on top of each other. The kids had a blast in the basement game room playing air hockey, ping pong and fooseball. There is also another bedroom in the basement, which makes a total of 4 bedrooms (property description only states 3). The property is very secluded, only one neighbor and you can't see their home from the property. I wil miss my peaceful mornings drinking coffee in the screened in back deck, where I seen deer every day. We also spent a lot of time relaxing in the hot tub. There is a swing set and a trail behind the property for the kids to explore. The property is within walking distance to the flowering bridge and the lake's beach. The beach was closed this week as the local kids were back to school, but it is open on the weekends and that is where we are planning on spending our entire day. Chimney Rock Village is less than 1 mile away and has several shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend the river walk-beautiful! We enjoyed our breakfast sitting on the river at Genny's. There is also a nice Mexican restaurant in Lake Lure. Ingles grocery store is not far and has everything you need to cook meals at the house. We made a delicious salad for dinner one night from their wonderful salad bar. There were so many things to do in the area that we were busy the entire week, but still missed a few things - Sliding Rock will have to wait til next year. We spent a day tubing on the Green River; had a lot of fun but was a little scary in sections with the kids as there were class 1&2 rapids. Linville Caverns and Linville Falls is a great day trip, & you must drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Linville-Incredible views! DuPont state park is also worth the trip, there are several beautiful waterfalls to hike to and you can even swim at Hooker Falls. We had a wonderful stay here at the Hide-a-way and are definitely planning another trip next year!"

  • Great Cottage

"Crimson Cottage was fantastic. It is very clean and well stocked. Bring food, hygiene items and clothes and you're ready for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. Family plans for a week at the Outer Banks were turned upside down thanks to Hurricane Matthew. Thanks to Sharon for a quick, stress-free itinerary change! The only problem with this stay is it wasn't long enough! Hated to leave!"

  • Fun Weekend

"Cabin is right on the Broad River and there are plenty of huge rocks to sit on if you enjoy dipping your feet in the water or taking a dip - cooler recommended so you can spend hours in the water. Cabin is walking distance to town, shops, bars and restaurants (no stores to purchase groceries). Lake Lure is an easy 8 mile drive to the nearest grocery and additional restaurants on the lake. Cabin is well maintained and very comfortable including the beds :-). Plenty of linens and towels too. Wi-Fi keeps you connected if you have the need. Hot tub is on the back deck with view of Chimney Rock. We would rent again."
