  • Gorgeous Little Cabin Tucked Away From It All

"This gorgeous little cabin was the perfect getaway for my husband, our toddler and I! Although the foggy/rainy weather hampered the view for the majority of our trip, we still enjoyed the back porch swing, ethereal foggy mountain views and lovely surrounding property. It wasn't that hard to get to, either - and the location is gorgeous. Saluda was a quaint little town (we enjoyed Green River BBQ for dinner one night, and shopping at Thompson's & MA Pace grocery stores). The majority of our trip was spent at surrounding waterfalls and parks, making this cabin's location ideal. I would highly recommend it for those traveling with a little one - the location was quiet, plenty of room to bring a pack-n-play (our son slept in the corner of the master bedroom with us) and he loved taking a bath in the clawfoot tub! Overall, we had a relaxing time and felt our money was VERY WELL SPENT at this beautiful cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back!"

"This was our second visit to this beautiful cabin and it felt wonderful remembering the great moments we had the first time around and experiencing new ones. Although we had some rainy days, the area was just as beautiful as we remembered. My wife and I enjoyed the much needed peace and tranquility that we were seeking. On this trip we celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary along with our little dog Mimi. She too had a great time running around and playing in the open field and rolling over the piles of fallen leaves. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone seeking either adventure, romance or just a peaceful getaway. The owner is a great, friendly and an outgoing human being. Thank you Bobbi for sharing your amazing mountain cabin with us and making all this beautiful memories possible."

  • Storybook vacation!

"We wanted to experience as much of NC as we could in a week, and we got our wish. Being in Maggie Valley, we were never more than an hour from everything we wanted to do, except perhaps Biltmore, which wasn't much farther really. And it was always a beautiful welcome when we returned from our adventures. The house and property are simply lovely and a delight for both kids and adults. We have four children, but there was plenty of room for everyone. My youngest couldn't stay away from the creek running through the yard, and we enjoyed smores and fireflies nearly every evening by the fire pit. The adults appreciated the hot tub to soak away tired muscles in the evening. The owners were very nice and everything was well thought out and easy to find and use. We are hoping to return next year during the winter if we can, and see what the skiing and other winter activities are like!"

  • The Perfect Setting For a Weekend Away

"I cannot write enough positive things about our amazing weekend at Almost Heaven. It was just the perfect setting for our girls getaway weekend--- so beautiful and peaceful. That VIEW! We couldn't get over it. It will take your breath away every time. Annette was SO wonderful in her communication, clear directions, and suggestions of things to see and do in the area. It is an intense (but kind of fun!) drive up the mountain roads to the home, but certainly doable, even though all of us just had front-wheel drive. Definitely recommend trying to get there in daylight if you can -- it's easier to find! But also know that the trek up the mountain is worth it for that view! Also definitely recommend doing your grocery shopping in your hometown or before you get the cabin and packing a cooler --- bring food and just stay put at the cabin. It would be quite a journey to have to "run to the store" for a small thing. We did get to explore Black Mountain for lunch (about 20-25 min drive) and enjoyed that! Also appreciated the suggested to check out Standing Rock Falls within the Gateway Mountain premises; it was lovely! The home was so accommodating and comfortable. We had 8 women staying, and all had a bed spot and plenty of space! We ate every meal and drank coffee/wine out on the amazing back deck. We watched the sunset and watch storms roll by. Once night came, we saw more stars than us city dwellers ever get to see--even some shooting stars! To say we had a great time is kind of an understatement. It was kind of perfect! .My only wish is that we could have stayed longer!!! Trying to see if I can now get my extended family to take a trip up to the mountains next year...might have to use this home again:) A beautiful rental, and one of the best VRBO home's I've ever stayed in. Highly recommend! Thank you to the Morgans for sharing their home!"
