  • Peaceful hideaway!

"All of the previous reviews are completely accurate. I write this on the front porch of the cabin as the rooster crows and the chickens walk by. Living and working in the hustle and bustle of the city this property is such a breath of literally fresh air. Walking into the cabin is like going back to the simple life. So clean and comfy. Craftsmanship of cabin unique. History of property such a great story. Location is very close to Main Street Blowing Rock. One of my best vacation locations ever to disconnect from day to day life."

  • Perfect Spring Break getaway with kids and dogs!

"We had a great time at the cabin during our Spring Break 2016. The first afternoon we were there it snowed and coming from Florida it was a special treat, especially for the kids who had never seen snow! They enjoyed running around in the spacious yard (as did the dogs), playing in the snow, and then defrosting in the warmth of the hot tub! With 2 moms, 4 kids, and 2 dogs the cabin did not feel cramped at all. The kitchen was well appointed and we enjoyed cooking and eating around the dinning table. The fireplace was so warm and cozy, it did take us a couple tries to get it going, but once we did it worked fine. The location was great as it was not remote, but you couldn't really see any neighbors either and was close to everything we wanted to see and do. The Food Lion grocery store was only 5 minutes away and the Walmart in Boone was just 25 minutes. We went trout fishing, gem mining, hiking to Elk Falls and Grandfather Mountain. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family."

  • Great place!

"Stayed here with other young families for the weekend - had a great time. Convenient to skiing at Beech and lots of nice restaurants. Loved having the kitchen (almost) completely stocked with what we needed to cook every meal. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep. No issues at all! Owner, Patrick, was easy to reach with questions, and sent great directions in advance. House is cozy and easy to get to. Would definitely stay here again."

  • Great cabin

"This cabin was all we had hoped for and more. Two very comfortable bedrooms, two common areas, a large bathroom, fantastic kitchen, screened porch and a front porch. My father enjoyed the fire pit even though it was summer. It was nice to have the washer and dryer to use in preparation for the next week of vacation. The air conditioners were good to have when the weather was hot. The river access did not allow us to put in our kayaks but only because the river was low and our kayaks are not plastic. Otherwise, we could have easily put in there. We did take advantage of all the put-in places on Lake James for our kayaks but my favorite was the Hidden Cove boat launch area. The neighborhood dog was so sweet! He checked on us every day and liked everyone. There is a good movie selection in the cabin, games and puzzles. There is a porch swing on the screened porch that was very enjoyable. This is a great cabin, good location with friendly neighbors. We had two cars and plenty of parking."
