  • Fabulous cabin!

"My family greatly enjoyed our stay at this cabin! The décor was homey and rustic - very comfortable. The back deck was spectacular, and the views of the creek couldn't be beat! At night, all you could hear was the sound of the waterfall. Perfect! Also, very conveniently located. Wonderful visit!"

  • Nice spot for the price

"This location is about as good as you'll ever find if you like the river and being close to the towns and attractions in the area. This property is nicely secluded and has a very long river-frontage that allows a nice walk and plenty of fish-able spots from the bank. We even saw some of the local wildlife throughout our stay. It's only 15 to 20 minutes up to Cherokee and great streams. About the same to Sylva and further south; pretty close to Waynesville as well. It's a bit small, but still a great value at the $132 per night. Sadly, after adding in all the fees and taxes, the 2-night price almost doubled the cost for our stay. I guess the motto here is..... just to stay longer. Hot tub was in great shape, great decks overlooking the river, and beds were good as well. Kitchen is small but adequate - no dishwasher except the manual kind. And no doubt, it is a real mountain cabin with easy access to the main road and local spots. Our cell-service was actually good enough to send & receive texts with no problem - AT&T."

  • Amazing View and Family Friendly Home

"We simply had a perfect week for our time at this Scaly Mountain home. The property for this home is simply breathtaking. In almost every direction, you see mountains. It sits next to a gorgeous farm field with a pond. It is a great place to rest and relax!!! The house is about 15-20 minutes from Highlands. It is so close to several waterfalls and breathtaking overlooks of the mountains. We had four adults and four kids (under the age of 8) there. Plenty of space, so we did not feel cramped at all!!! I also did not feel like I had to be on edge thinking my kids would destroy everything. This is a very comfortable home. The kitchen had everything we needed to fix meals. The house had wi-fi which was needed since we did not have cell service. If you have kids, there is a tubing/gem mining/trout fishing pond in the summer and ice skating rink and tubing hill in the winter, that is five minutes away. Our kids had a blast!!! To be honest, one of our kids was crying because he did not to leave! The owner's did a FABULOUS job communicating with me regarding our stay!!!! We would like to go back again in the fall to see the leaf color change and then again in the winter to see all views."

  • Delightful and relaxing

"Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable with all the conveniences of home and plenty of space. It was a little rainy and cool so we enjoyed the electric fireplace/heater. Everything was clean and inviting plus accessible to go hiking and enjoy the outdoors. It was so nice and quiet. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to get away. Our hostess was friendly and ready to serve."
