  • Vacation in Marion, SC Cottage

"My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage for 5 days. The house, more than a cottage in my mind, was clean and well kept and very comfortable. The development was very unique, with a mixture of cottages and permanent RV sites. It was quiet and the layout provided privacy and natural beauty. It was outside of town enough to provide the vacation atmosphere, but convenient to groceries, gas and restaurants. We used the cottage as a home base for several day trips to explore the area. Just driving around was exciting and rewarding, taking in the beauty of the mountains and forests. At the end of the day we would come back to the cool and comfortable cottage. It was very well stocked with towels and linens. The beds were comfortable, although I would suggest an investment in some new bed pillows. The kitchen had all the tools needed to prepare our meals. The furniture was relatively new, not old garage sale finds. It was really very nice, nicely decorated and just what we needed. My only criticism is the description of "Cottage on Lake James". Technically yes, the development is on Lake James, as it provides a boat launch onto the lake. However, it took us a while to find that access, and as far as we could tell, that was the only access to it. The cottage itself is not on the lake, so the title could be a little misleading. However, the access to the pool in the development was a nice substitute."

  • it feels like home

"Great place to stay when coming to the mountains...located right between a decent size town and some great activities. The home owner is so helpful and nice. If you have a large group of people this is the place for you. Tons of space! Plenty of wood for some great fires...recommend the hike to the top of the property to see all of the amazing views."

  • Clean and Spacious

"Our family of four enjoyed a two-night stay at Eco-Cove. Gabrielle and Ed were gracious, welcoming hosts. We really appreciated how clean and well maintained the house was. During our stay, we traveled to nearby Grandfather Mountain, Lake Lure, and Linville Caverns. The kids loved the animal room as well as seeing fireflies in the garden every evening. The home sits on a secluded, relaxing property. If our stay was a little longer, we would have definitely spent some time at the pond. Next time!"

  • Large Group Getaway

"The Highlander Cabin was a great getaway location for my family. Between my husband and me and our 5 adult children, the house served us well in size, location, and activities for us to do together or alone. Because of our size, it was important for us to have a house that allowed everyone his/her own space, but also afforded us an area that we all could come together to eat and/or play games, etc. It was also nice to be able to cook on the premises vs going out every night since we had a budget by which to abide. The surrounding area offered many day trips, too. We will definitely look forward to returning to the Highlander in the near future!"
