  • Very Cozy Cabin on Lake Lure

"We were thrilled when we opened the door and found a very warm and cozy cabin. We shared the home with our adult children who also had a wonderful time. We had the private suite downstairs with a private entrance and bathroom and they had their privacy upstairs. The house looked newly renovated and had every thing that you would need. We played games at the table looking out at the lake, sat at the bar and enjoyed movies and fires in the great stone fireplace. We fished and used the canoe to explore the beautiful clear lake. The spacious dock was also a great place to enjoy a meal or just sit and look out at the lake. We enjoyed all of the local restaurants and tourist attractions. We will have to come back during the summer months so that we can swim."

  • Had a great time in Lake Lure & Asheville

"First of all, working with VRBO/Emily was super easy--she was very responsive to queries, and her information about arrival was helpful and accurate. For the most part, the cabin was as expected. It looked just like the pictures, and was very clean; however, the deck needs a little attention, and the kitchen cupboards are getting a little shabby. As others mentioned, it was well-stocked, with games, movies, kitchen utensils, towels, bedding; in fact, it was so well-stocked, that there was very little room in the cabinets, drawers or closets for personal items. (For example, out of 5 drawers in the Master BR dresser, 2 had blankets in them, which left 3 for my husband and me to share.) We often moved/consolidated things so that we could have some space for our groceries and personal effects. We were hoping for a cabin with a fire pit, but instead brought a portable one along with a few lawn chairs, which did the trick. We were there 6 days/5 nights--very nice that we didn't have to rent for a whole week--and ended up in Asheville 3 times, which is well-worth the drive. Overall, its quiet setting is great, as well as its location, close to fun activities (boat rentals, beach, zip lining, hiking), a grocery store and Larkins, a great little restaurant on the lake; and it's very comfortable, offering great space for relaxing and unwinding--beds were very comfortable, too! Would definitely recommend, and return."

  • Sister's Vacation.

"This was a Sister's getaway. The five of us had plenty of room for each to have their own privacy. The cabin was very clean, quiet and beautiful. I would recommend this unit to anyone. We grilled on the deck with a beautiful canopy of trees of every color around us."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My girlfriends and I decided to come to Fawn Forest for a fall getaway. The cabin is beautifully situated on Bald Mountain Lake. The cabin was beautiful and well kept, it had everything we needed and then some. I would highly recommend a trip here any time but I am partial to the beautiful colors fall offered."
