  • What a lovely view! We loved the view from the windows.

"The den was very cozy; the large fireplace was a treat! The house was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped."

  • Comfortable accommodations with a beautiful view.

"Enjoyed my stay in this 2/2 condo. The furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. Be aware that the mattresses are quite firm, which was good for me. The facility amenities were as advertised. The owners were very responsive and provided all the needed information. The one key criticism was that the TV listings showed approximately 50 - 60 cable channels, but the TV's only delivered the basic 10, similar to having an antenna. However, a compensating factor is the huge movie collection (400+ titles, from early 2000's to 2013). The only other disappointment was that renters cannot park next to the building, even when there are spaces available. The facility has shuttle service to the parking lots a little lower on the mountain, and the guard at the gate is very quick to alert the shuttle when you pull in the lot. However, it is still a bit inconvenient to make the transfer from your vehicle to the shuttle for the short ride to the building--especially when you have stuff to carry. This is not a concern when first arriving or leaving. You can park briefly by the main entrance to load and unload your vehicle and take your luggage to the condo. For anyone who does not think these two criticisms are a big deal, then I would recommend staying here. The views are wonderful, and at this elevation (5100 feet), the air is cool and fresh!"

  • Outstanding Family Thanksgiving Vacation

"Our 3 generation adult family of 6 stayed in the house the week of Thanksgiving. We found the place very charming, well appointed and clean. The living room is a very nice size with comfortable seating for more than our 6 people. An ample flat screen TV for us football junkies. Also a flat screen in two of the three bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and is large enough for multiple people. We all got good night's sleep on comfortable beds. The location is great with a spectacular view. We could almost reach out and touch Grand Father Mountain. The weather can be unpredictable in late November but we had mild clear weather. The wood burning fireplace added to the ambiance of the place. One of the weather high lights was the day after Thanksgiving after a light early morning mist we drove up to the top of the mountain ridge to the Linville Ridge golf course for some hiking. The mid morning sun broke out thru the mist and illuminated the ice crystals on all the trees; a fantastic scene in all directions. The location is ideal; a private community close to the ski slopes but away from the noise and crowds. Snow was being made but we did not ski. Close to two full function grocery stores; several good restaurants in the area and most any other store or service you might need in a small rural setting short of a shopping mall. Not to forget the ABC store in case you run short of Thanksgiving cheer. The owner was very easy to work with and accommodating."

  • King of the mountains

"This is the second year we have stayed at this home and it is fabulous. The views are tremendous and the quietness where it's located is very peaceful. It is very clean and we plan on staying again next fall and summer if it does not sell yet. It is a model home and we did have a showing why we were staying there but we just enjoyed the beautiful outdoor fireplace and patio why they were showing it. It has more than enough room as we had 2 families in it and felt very comfortable. One day we just sat and looked at Grandfather mountain all day, and as a cyclist, I ventured out to the Blue Ridge south bound one day, Hickory Nut Grove Road another and then on up to the Viaduct on the BR to the north another. Very classy place in the Carolina's that we love every time."
