"the house is beautiful located on a wonderful isolated piece of property. great area for local hiking trails. owner very accommodating and easy to deal with. the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. nice hot tub and grill on porch. the only downside is the last .9 mile to get there."

  • Perfect

"We just left this cabin yesterday and I sure do miss it. The pictures are true to what you will find when you walk into the cabin. It is missing nothing. Everything was very clean. The hot tub is clean. The creativity of painting the creek stones and leaving them as tokens of memories is unforgettable. The ride to Sugar was about an hour. I just wanted to say thank you Jackie. We loved your cabin and we will be back!"

  • Best VRBO We've Ever Done

"We took a summer family trip to the mountains for three days and had a wonderful time. Without even leaving the property, our family tubed in the river, collected the eggs from the chickens, picked an apple from the tree, watched deer, hummingbirds and a prairie dog, collected fireflies, cooked s'mores in the fire pit, and stargazed at night from the adjacent field. We also enjoyed a free concert in Todd, went in to West Jefferson for a great dinner, and did a few nearby mountain vista hikes--and discovered a new park at Elk Knob State Park. We even brought our dog, who enjoyed playing with Luger and Luger's toys, and who appreciated the many treats he was offered by Pam. The home was clean, comfortable, well-kept, and well-stocked, and Warren and Pam's hospitality was wonderful. We'll definitely be back--I can't imagine going anywhere else when we take our next family mountain trip."

  • A Perfect Paradise for Body, MInd and Soul

"My husband and I stayed at Clearfield Cottage for two magically wonderful nights and we recommend it for anyone who delights in spectacular views, peaceful tranquility and stunningly beautiful accommodations. Ron and Rachel were simply magnificent hosts and we felt so welcome and well taken care of during our stay. The cottage itself is like an oasis of art and nature, beautifully decorated with gorgeous paintings by Rachel. Her hand crafted floors and the exquisite design to maximize the views make the cottage a true gift for the senses. We stopped at a great grocery on our way to the cottage and cooked two wonderful dinners during our stay, while we sipped some wine and watched nature in its glory through the lovely picture window in the dining area. The babbling stream next to the cottage made for wonderfully restful sleep. The best way I can describe our stay at Clearfield Cottage is to say we left home after a hectic and busy period of our lives and, after two days and nights in the cottage, we had completely decompressed and rejuvenated our bodies and spirits. Next time we plan to stay even longer and make it our destination, rather than a "passing through" to Asheville. Clearfield Cottage is a treat and one that we plan to visit regularly!"
