  • Cozy, well-crafted beauty

"Wonderful natural and well-crafted aesthetics in the chalet, and, yeah!, no paintings of waterfalls! The quiet is exquisite, and the views east and west are lovely."

  • Great place !!!

"If you love to hike...this is the perfect location. Black Mountain Campground has a lot of hiking trails that kept us busy all week. The only time we drove was to go the dump & get groceries. Dogs loved the hikes too & chilling on the grass... Cabin has a great front yard. Road is a little busy ( people going to Campgrounds ). There're other properties on each side of cabin but nobody was there the whole week we stayed there. Had breakfasts & dinners at front porch, nice cool mornings & evenings... that's what we needed coming from hot & humid South Carolina!! Overall South Toe is a wonderful location, owners are truly blessed to own that little place ,right there by Pisgah National Forest !! We highly recommend it to all nature/hiking lovers !! • Piece of heaven

"I can not say enough to express how amazing this place is! My family of 3, my brother's family of 4, and our parents stayed here for 4 nights over the 4th of July this year. We try to do a big family trip once a year and everyone felt this was the best one yet! The road up to it is indeed a bit thrilling, but I quite enjoyed it and very detailed directions are provided. The house itself was spacious: each part of the family had their own floor to retreat to, with a wonderful open-concept 1st floor kitchen/dining/living room for everyone to meet for meals, games, and a place to talk. The deck was wonderful! We spent most of our time out there. There were gates on both ends and our 22 month old, 3, and 5 year olds played on the provided riding toys for hours, bro and I did yoga on the deck, used the gas BBQ, and just sat outside enjoying the forest and peace around us. Explored hiking trails right from the house. There were no fireworks allowed because of fire danger so we just barely heard the fireworks in Asheville, like distant thunder. For the combat vet in our group, not having to deal with random fireworks going off was a gift; he said it's the best 4th of July he's had since his deployment. The house is the last one up the mountain road, so incredibly private. It was a great homebase for trips to Asheville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Mt. Mitchell State Park. All communications with the owner were prompt and helpful. They also provide everything you can think of from paper products to laundry detergent. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to return!"

  • Beautiful, private, peaceful and exceptionally clean.

"During an extensive search of online rental properties in the Lake Lure area, we happened upon Eco-Cove near Marion, NC about 30 minutes east of Asheville. Entering the sanctuary, going past the koi pond and past our hosts, Gabrielle and Ed's home, we were pleasantly surprised to find at the end of the lane what we would soon call our home away from home. This beautiful well maintained , fully equipped and extremely clean home is located in a private, secluded natural setting. The warm welcome and gracious hospitality extended to us during our stay including the personal touch of fresh floral arrangements throughout the home, made our stay even more special and enjoyable. Awakening to the woods coming alive with bird song in the morning, relaxing on the porch watching the hummingbirds and huge butterflies flitting about, listening to the trickling of the nearby brook, just enjoying the peace and tranquility and feeling the stress and tension draining away, we felt we had found a little piece of Heaven on earth and wished we could have stayed longer. We especially enjoyed visiting with our hosts down by the pond watching the koi feed. We highly recommend Eco-Cove and look forward to our return in the not so distant future. Thank you Gabrielle and Ed for making our stay truly special and memorable."
