  • Fantastic location

"You will be hard-pressed to find a cabin with a better location or host. Right on the Laurel River, secluded & private, close to Hot Springs. We return every year."

  • Not motorcycle friendly - but a fantastic stay

"This house had it all, a view, great amenities, excellent hosts, but if you are traveling via motorcycle that isn't meant for off-road, you're up for a challenge. The extensive, chunk-gravel drive off the main road, combined with two rutted and steep pitched hills, makes it extremely stressful for even the most seasoned Harley rider. Perhaps you park the bikes in-town and hitch a car ride with buddies to the house, but wanted to leave this honest review. The drive is a challenge for cars, even more so for bikes. But man. What a house! And if you're traveling into Asheville, you can get Ubers (don't drink and drive) from Marshall (not the house), but the Good Stuff bar is a great place to hang out, have a beer, and wait for your ride."

  • Beautiful and awesome!!

"We just spent our 50th anniversary here and we HATED to leave!! Although it rained the entire time, it was the best vacation we ever had. The bad thing was,we only had one full day. (Even our yellow lab would not get into the car when it came time to go home!!) All my family wanted to stay , can't wait to go back!! The trip up to the house was not bad at all. The directions that was given to us to navigate around were right on the money!! Just can't wait to go back!! We saw turkey and deer! My husbands ancestors came from Marshall,NC. We went to visit the town and the lady at the Bowmans Hardware was the highlight!! It you ever get to visit, please go to see her and get a very good funny history lesson about the building itself!! Wonderful trip! Love the house and setting! Paradise is the perfect name!! Susan and Jim Rector Union, SC"

  • Relaxing and beautiful

"We were three adults and three children. The appointments in this home are above rental grade and made for a very comfortable stay. The deck is expansive and great for sitting and star gazing, and the king bed in the master is a wonderful tempurpedic. The loft bed is accessed from an open spiral staircase that we kept our youngest child off of for safety. We were happy to follow owners request to have our kids eat at the table and watch for stains on the rugs...it is a lovely home and we wanted to keep it that way for the next guests. The driving around there is a visual treat for city dwellers; our teenager voluntarily turned off the iPad movie and enjoyed the countryside. Driving distance: we took 30 leisurely minutes to get into Asheville, a bit less for the Weaverville Ingalls/Walmart. Sliding Rock was kids favorite day and took about 40 minutes for us."
