  • Relaxing and beautiful

"We were three adults and three children. The appointments in this home are above rental grade and made for a very comfortable stay. The deck is expansive and great for sitting and star gazing, and the king bed in the master is a wonderful tempurpedic. The loft bed is accessed from an open spiral staircase that we kept our youngest child off of for safety. We were happy to follow owners request to have our kids eat at the table and watch for stains on the rugs...it is a lovely home and we wanted to keep it that way for the next guests. The driving around there is a visual treat for city dwellers; our teenager voluntarily turned off the iPad movie and enjoyed the countryside. Driving distance: we took 30 leisurely minutes to get into Asheville, a bit less for the Weaverville Ingalls/Walmart. Sliding Rock was kids favorite day and took about 40 minutes for us."

  • Beautiful Home and Views for a family vacation

"Had 3 generations including a newborn stay and enjoy the Barco's home. There is anything you need at the house to prepare meals and we enjoyed the views while eating and playing games at the dining table. We enjoyed sliding rock, Lake Lure for swimming, and views along the Parkway as well as visiting the towns around the area. Definitely suggest for a relaxing vacation. The neighbors have cows and roosters and horses to watch from the decks. There is plenty of room to enjoy each other and room for privacy. Fun time had by all of us!"

  • Great family cabin

"I loved the cabin and will be visiting again. Perfect place to relax with the family. The river is beautiful and you can walk through it and take in Mother Nature."

  • Absolutely phenomenal!

"This chalet and property on the Laurel River is absolutely phenomenal for a restful, secluded break. The woods and river are truly quiet and peaceful. There's only foot traffic along the river during the daytime. The evenings are dark - free of light pollution, and the chorus of the tree frogs and cicadas, etc. at night is the only sound over the rushing of the river below. The home, itself, is the perfect balance of modern convenience and rustic character. We spent our days hiking the trail while hubby fished the river. It was lovely in the early spring so we didn't avail ourselves of the deck, firepit or grill because of the chilly weather, but this is as close to a perfect retreat as one can get - fully equipped for a great time in a sylvan setting! Hot Springs is a quaint town just a few minutes up the road on the Appalachian Trail, with eclectic dining and shopping. I can't say enough about this property and location - it is truly a hidden gem for folks that want some quality alone time with family/friends."
