  • Peaceful & Perfect

"The drive up the mountain was a beautiful adventure & we had no problem with a 4wd pick up (per the clear directions). The cabin was clean and neat & decorated well. The kitchen had everything we could have possible needed. The bedroom was relaxing and the bed was cozy! We loved the rustic feel combined with the chandelier in the bathroom. The hot tub under the stars couldn't have been more romantic or soothing. It, also, was clean and in wonderful working order. The glider rocker on the porch was the perfect reading spot for quiet, fresh air, and wildlife. For those who reviewed previously & had trouble comprehending that one needs a 4wd to get up a mountain or understanding that in the wilderness there might be bugs, I think you may be suffering from 1st world problems. For those who couldn't manage to stay warm with their spouse during a romantic get away, you're doing it wrong! It was a great vacation and we hope to be back soon!"

  • Fantastic!

"My husband (papa), myself (nana), our daughter in law, 2 teenage grandchildren and two of their friends all stayed in this lovely home. Plenty of room. Upstairs has one shared bath with two bedrooms (1 King and 1 Queen). Dnstairs has one bedroom with 1 King and 1 Twin and adjoining private bath. Home had central air and each bedroom had an additional window unit. Home temp was perfect during stay. Mornings and evenings were spent on the porch with the beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Three person porch swing was used by all. Plenty of parking for the trailer we pulled. Road up to house was gravel but easily negotiated and drive was concrete. Very Private location. Kids had room to run and included water balloon fight around the grounds. Outside park like grill - would have preferred a regular gas grill. One suggestion would be a designated area with fire pit for hot dogs, smores etc. Had issue with fridge not cooling but it was due to temperature settings not being set correctly and after correction it worked perfectly. Kitchen was stocked but bring storage containers and/or ziplock bags. We brought our own clothes detergent/softener as it was not provided. Overall wonderful time and experience. Would definitely recommend!"

  • Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

"My family and I booked Parkway Peek in June of 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed our magical experience in the mountains of North Carolina. The cabin had everything we needed to fully experience the attractions both distant a close by. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals with a dining room table that would accommodate a large family. The bedrooms had comfortable beds and bathrooms were clean and functional. Wall unit A/C’s and wood stoves would accommodate visitors all season and the views from the deck were worth the price alone. Outside, a large grill came in handy and smores beside the fire pit were great after long days of hiking. Speaking of outdoor attractions, Parkway Peek is strategically located close to amazing scenic locations that are all within a reasonable car ride away. We visited Linville Falls, Grandfather Mountain, Craggy Gardens, and Linville Caverns all conveniently located off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Further away but worth the trip, the Wilson Creek area provided amazing opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, or dipping a toe in a cool mountain stream. We also made several trips to Spruce Pine, which is very close by, for pizza, groceries, and supplies. In addition, a journey to Penland School of Crafts made for a day of artistic wonder and was one of our most memorable experiences of the whole vacation. Finally, I wanted to express my gratitude to Lesli and her family, the owners of Parkway Peek, for being such great hosts. In the weeks leading up to the trip, Lesli provided us via email with tons of information about local events and attractions. The night we arrived, the cabin was very clean and well equipped, which was reassuring after a long car trip. In addition, the owners provided a three ring binder filled with a multitude of maps and information that proved invaluable as we planned our week of adventure. In no time, the cabin almost seemed like a second home to us, and we didn’t want to leave in the end! Thanks for a wonderful experience! The Matherne Family"
