Recent Mount Mitchell reviews

  • Rustic and furnished well.

"31 days in the cool mountain air. Great stay, great places to visit. Mt Mitchell State Park was spectacular. Enjoyed several waterfalls. Nothing compared to waking up to 60 degree weather in July."

  • Great!!

"I'm really only giving you 4.9 stars Mike & Jim. This was our 3rd stay in your house and we plan on coming back next year for another week of golf and pool and darts and other fun things. This year we played golf Monday-Thursday and had a great time. It rained on Friday so we took a trip to Cherokee for a little gambling. Lost some money but had a good time doing it. The only reason i'm giving you 4.9 stars is that Dinosaur of a TV you have!! Come on, get in the 21st century with that. Other than that we LOVE THE HOUSE!!! Ken Smith"

  • Absolutely beautiful cabin!

"Cabin Branch is gorgeous - the pictures really do not do it justice. It's beautifully decorated with lots of local artwork and warm wood surfaces. Everything you need is included in abundance - just bring your food! The beds are comfy and the rooms are very spacious. I loved the screened porch in the evenings, the open front porch and back deck for morning coffee - tons of outside area and lots of seating. While it is in a neighborhood, it is very secluded - we even saw a deer run through the back yard into the woods! Very conveniently located near Mt.Mitchell and lots of trails of varying intensity. The owner created a nice binder with all kinds of info about local trails, waterfalls, activities, etc. The owner, Ron, was super nice to deal with. Honestly, there was a scheduling snafu on the first day of our stay - the previous renters had extended their stay twice (3 weeks total), and their last day didn't make it onto the calendar, so it was double booked. Ron was very apologetic and within minutes of the discovery (we were still on the road) had found us another cabin down the street from Cabin Branch, which ended up being at the trail head for the first waterfall we wanted to see anyway (Roaring Fork Falls). When we made it to Cabin Branch on day 2, it was clear why the previous folks wanted to stay longer. The place really is that nice. I'm already looking at the calendar to see when I can go back!!"
