  • Perfect!

"Robin's Nest was an adorable little cabin with amazing charm! It was the perfect size for two people, clean as a whistle and right in the heart of everything without all the noise! We were up for a wedding this weekend and this was such a great place to come after an amazing wedding! Mary was super nice and so helpful! I will definitely be making plans to stay here again! Thank you Mary for the wonderful accommodations and hospitality!"

  • The Perfect Setting For a Weekend Away

"I cannot write enough positive things about our amazing weekend at Almost Heaven. It was just the perfect setting for our girls getaway weekend--- so beautiful and peaceful. That VIEW! We couldn't get over it. It will take your breath away every time. Annette was SO wonderful in her communication, clear directions, and suggestions of things to see and do in the area. It is an intense (but kind of fun!) drive up the mountain roads to the home, but certainly doable, even though all of us just had front-wheel drive. Definitely recommend trying to get there in daylight if you can -- it's easier to find! But also know that the trek up the mountain is worth it for that view! Also definitely recommend doing your grocery shopping in your hometown or before you get the cabin and packing a cooler --- bring food and just stay put at the cabin. It would be quite a journey to have to "run to the store" for a small thing. We did get to explore Black Mountain for lunch (about 20-25 min drive) and enjoyed that! Also appreciated the suggested to check out Standing Rock Falls within the Gateway Mountain premises; it was lovely! The home was so accommodating and comfortable. We had 8 women staying, and all had a bed spot and plenty of space! We ate every meal and drank coffee/wine out on the amazing back deck. We watched the sunset and watch storms roll by. Once night came, we saw more stars than us city dwellers ever get to see--even some shooting stars! To say we had a great time is kind of an understatement. It was kind of perfect! .My only wish is that we could have stayed longer!!! Trying to see if I can now get my extended family to take a trip up to the mountains next year...might have to use this home again:) A beautiful rental, and one of the best VRBO home's I've ever stayed in. Highly recommend! Thank you to the Morgans for sharing their home!"

  • Round Knob Lodge Thanksgiving Week

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The week at RNL--the best Thanksgiving vacation our family has ever had! Pros-Great location-close to the quaint Black Mtn area. The lodge-Plenty of space for our 19. Full of character, history--rustic. The property--awesome, i.e. the stocked ponds, the railroad weaving around the lodge, the scenery, the paddle boat, hiking trails. You could be outside with plenty to do & not have to drive somewhere. The gameroom-a great place for the kids. The spaciousness of the kitchen and dining room. The service and attentiveness throughout the week--Gary (the lodge representative) was simply excellent! Cons-privacy of some bedrooms downstairs (no locks on doors). Game room amenities-i.e. some pool sticks needed repair, darts didn't work. Furnishings-chairs, couches in den and game room could be updated to be more comfortable. Ice machine door continually came off tracks. WIFI and cell phone coverage-poor. The pros far outweighed the cons!"

  • Very peaceful & beautiful foliage

"The Mountain Laurel house is a perfect getaway from the city life. It's surrounded by mountains and you will see lots of wild life. We vacationed there Nov 15th-18th and the foliage throughout the community was beautiful. We don't see the tree colors change in Florida, so that was a treat! The house is clean and stocked with all your needs. We went to dinner in neighboring town, Black Mountain? Hiked the Catawba Falls in the morning, which is really close by. We visited the beautiful Baltimore Estate for the Christmas evening tour, it was unreal and I highly suggest going anytime of the year. The winery there was fabulous!! Went to Asheville a few times (approx 35min drive), to join in on some of the brewery tours/tastings. Went to Grove Park Inn, and had lunch on the terrace, the views there are gorgeous! We would recommend the Mountain Laurel house and hope to be back for a visit one day. Happy Thanksgiving and Cheers, Crystal & Stephen (St. Petersburg, FL)"
