  • Amazing

"Got locked out at 1am in the morning and the owners were available to help us out with just a phone call away! They were extremely helpful in working with us to set up the stay as well as having the place look amazing! The pond has catfish and largemouth bass. We only caught 5 fish but every one was over 15inches (catfish 24). So relaxing and enjoyable and strongly recommend."

  • My Happy Place

"The house is wonderful. Exactly as described. IF you forget to bring something with you it is probably in the house already. Furnishings were very nice. Comfortably beds. Plenty of t.v.s 6 I think. Great furniture on the 3 decks. We enjoyed the river although we did not catch any fish. We found good food at The Winners Circle, The Hillbilly Grill and Statley Springs. There is plenty to do here. And all the Christimas trees are so pretty. We will certainly be going back. Thank you"

  • Ready to go back!

"We haven't even been back home 24 hrs, and I wish we were still there. The drive to the cabin is lovely ... the trip up the mountain isn't scary, as one reviewer had led me to fear, though I wouldn't want to drive it for the first time at night. My low-slung station wagon made it with no trouble. Just be prepared to go into low gear a time or two, and try to keep momentum on the gravel sections. The cabin itself is exactly what I'd want if it were mine. The layout is perfect, the rooms are large, the appliances work perfectly, the tap water is delicious, and of course that million-dollar view is to die for. There isn't a house in sight, even far in the distance. Except for a rare passing vehicle and an occasional high-flying airplane, we heard nothing but nature. We had family and friends in and out and a few other complications so we didn't have time to explore the nearby parks and trails as we'd planned, but it didn't matter. Whoever is up there next can enjoy the bounty of just-ripening wild blackberries alongside the path leading down into the woods. But be smarter than I was -- I'd forgotten the lessons my mama taught me 50 years ago and was eaten alive later by hitchhiking chiggers or some other no-see-ums. (The cobbler was worth it.) We're grateful to the owner for opening this beautiful cabin to guests. It was a wonderfully relaxing vacation, just what we needed."
