  • Beautiful home and an amazing experience. So much to do in the area and a fantastic spot to relax.

"The home was as wonderful the second time as the first. We love every moment in Mt Mitchell and plan on making many more visits."

  • Very nice, clean, and well equipped

"Our family had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin was great and the Cane river is just at the end of the road where you can fish and swim and even swing from a rope into the river. Burnsville is a great little town with some cool shops. The Blind Squirrel is a legit restaurant and brewery. The coffee shop in town, Appalachian Java, makes a killer iced Americano. The Carolina Hemlocks are about 30 minutes away where you can jump off rocks into a cold natural swimming hole or tube down the river. We spent a whole day there picnicking and swimming. We drove about an hour and half southwest and enjoyed some amazing swimming holes and waterfalls. Loved it."

  • A serene and peaceful setting for our family gathering.

"Dream on a Stream is well named. The views of the Toe River right outside the property are beautiful and tranquil. We wish our stay had been longer, we regret we did not have time to wade and play in the river. It is so inviting, our grandson would have loved playing in the water! The water is crystal clear, shallow, and the slow moving current is lovely to listen to. The home is spacious, immaculate, and well furnished for comfort and relaxation. The space is well designed to allow three couples to each have their own bedroom and bathroom, with two common living areas to come together for tv, movies, and games. The indoor jacuzzi is an added plus. The kitchen is well equipped and the kitchen dining area has awesome views of the beautiful wooded lot and river. The upstairs deck is enclosed with well built railings, providing a secure place for our toddler grandson to play while the adults enjoyed the ambiance. Robin, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, with tips about travel directions, area hikes and places to eat. She was prompt and helpful in responding to our questions. A lovely weekend vacation experience!"

  • Great place !!!

"If you love to hike...this is the perfect location. Black Mountain Campground has a lot of hiking trails that kept us busy all week. The only time we drove was to go the dump & get groceries. Dogs loved the hikes too & chilling on the grass... Cabin has a great front yard. Road is a little busy ( people going to Campgrounds ). There're other properties on each side of cabin but nobody was there the whole week we stayed there. Had breakfasts & dinners at front porch, nice cool mornings & evenings... that's what we needed coming from hot & humid South Carolina!! Overall South Toe is a wonderful location, owners are truly blessed to own that little place ,right there by Pisgah National Forest !! We highly recommend it to all nature/hiking lovers !! Rob & Joanna"
