  • Pleasant stay on Sugar Mtn

"This condo is beautifully equipped - everything you could need - roomy bedrooms and full baths with extra heat, kitchen well-stocked! As with most accommodations, there was one rather big disappointment: We could NOT light the gas logs in the gorgeous stone fireplace/hearth! It looked like the gas pipe was NOT connected to the logs. Other condos were using fireplaces - smoke coming out chimneys. Really missed that expectation! Our unit's Y F was intermittent, but we enjoyed watching cable TV. It is a DOWNSTAIRS unit, condo above. Guests entered the upstairs condo late Friday night, so we heard the walking. No working light bulb on outside porch. Not sure if non-slip strips were in place for outside stairs. Leaves were covering walkway/steps when we arrived - in the dark & raining lightly - so a bit scary. Mattresses were "fair", but I didn't have trouble sleeping and I do have back problems. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed the unit. Nice view!"

  • The best in NC mountains

"We had a wonderful pleasant stay. The Condo is top notch clean and well equipped. The owner is very courteous, she called us one week later to sure everything was OK. The view is spectacular and the GPS directions was easy. Most of the mountain attraction are 30-40 min away. It will be better if you bring 4W SVU car to navigate the steep and curved mountain roads especially Grandfather mountain. Enjoy your stay. Definitely the Condo is worthwhile the trip."

  • Amazing Stay

"I had the pleasure of getting married in this house (there is a beautiful barn outside for events) and my family and I spent a wonderful week there. The property is more amazing than in pictures and there's so many little areas to relax in. It's secluded and very private, yet only a couple minutes away to supermarkets, restaurants, etc. 100% recommend!"

  • Wahoo and Tar Heel

"My wife and I stayed here for a month in August 2016, and we could have stayed forever. The unobstructed view from the roomy rear deck is wonderful----no buildings, just a grassy meadow and the mountains. Walking about was a delight, as everyone was friendly and there was a mix of ages and geographic residences. The condo has an appealing and comfortable high-country atmosphere; the kitchen was well equipped with all one needs to whip up a meal or brew a cup of coffee. The rooms are clean and well-cared for. There are endless places to hike both around the condo, and the immediate surroundings. Banner Elk has wonderful restaurants with a cuisine for all palates. Finally, the owners are very customer oriented; we had a slight internet problem with the router, but the next day the technician from the provider arrived and installed a new router. Problem solved, customer happy! This is a wonderful home, lovingly cared for by Rob and Cathy. Highly recommended for all."
