  • Wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

"Mary Ann’s Cabin is a great little place! It is very clean and cozy! Our stay included two couples, it was the perfect amount of space. We prepared Thanksgiving dinner with ease in the nicely equipped kitchen. We will be back!!!"

  • Family Reunion vacation

"River House and Little River House properties were our family's "home away from home" for our reunion over Labor Day weekend. From the beginning Rondi was so easy to communicate with. She responded very quickly to texts/ emails and answered all our questions happily. Our group spanned 4 generations and everyone felt at home. The bedrooms were comfortable; décor was never "boring"-there was always something new to look at; there were areas for all ages just to "hang out"; between the large deck overlooking the beautiful river, the dining room and living room, everyone had a place to relax. The kitchen worked well for making meals together. The kids enjoyed the river, playing mini golf and hide and seek. Shopping and restaurants are very close by. The sound of the river lulled us to sleep and we dream of more fun times in N. Carolina. I would definitely stay in this VRBO again and recommend it to all my friends and relations. It was even better than the pictures."

  • Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway/Great Hosts

"I was reluctant to rent a home the last minute for Thanksgiving weekend, because afterall how could there still be something available when everything else was sold out and still be reasonably priced. From the beginning, Bill and Lea were exceptional to deal with. They sent us a welcome email the day of arrival with all their favorite places to eat and the local attractions. They also checked on us once our check in time, to make sure the house was ok and met our expections. They have paid attention to every detail. You don't have to spend days getting acclimated with the house. They have laminated instructions. Light switches even have details. No burning your self in the shower because the temperature is noted. The home is very clean. View is great with ample porch seating and a nice clean hot tub ready for its guests to have a glass of wine under the stars. One suggestion I gave owner, is there are no cleaning supplies except a bottle of window cleaner and bleach in laundry room with laundry soap. Spending 5 nights, cleaning is very much necessary . The home was very clean , I'm not knocking that at all. Just some Dollar Tree supplies would be great to maintain. This home is away from everything. No quick drives to the grocery store or drug store. All at least 30 minutes away. There is a Walmart 30 minutes away and Ingles grocery store. We visited during the wildfires, so alot was closed. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure is about 15/20 minutes away. Nice towns and restaurants. Downtown Asheville is about 30 minutes away which has amazing restaurants and the famous Biltmore Estate. I highly recommend this home for a getaway from it all. The views are great and you can't ask for better hosts than Bill and Lea"

  • Oustanding Property!

"Our family decided to visit the Biltmore over Thanksgiving this year. We have stayed in a number of rental homes over the years in various parts of the country and this home is definitely one of our favorites. The kitchen was bigger than it looked in pictures and was suitable for cooking Thanksgiving dinner; we were surprised to see the double oven which helped us cook multiple dishes while the turkey was cooking. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. A number of people comment about the road up the mountain to the home. While it is steep, it really isn't much to worry about. It's wide enough and paved in the area where it might be difficult to get some traction. I suspect it would be difficult to use during a snow storm, but otherwise just keep your tires turning and you will be fine. My favorite part of the house was the wrap-around deck and hot tub. There are tremendous views from the deck and hot tub. The cool, crisp nights were perfect for sitting in the hot tub looking up at millions of stars with basically no noise to be heard. This house was a great escape, but only minutes to Asheville and the Biltmore. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer."
