  • Enjoyed our stay

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lake Lure is just beautiful, and Tim's house is a perfect lake house. Access to the pontoon boat is a great added benefit. There are lots of stairs to the boat dock, but we appreciated the exercise."

  • The Charm of a farmhouse warmed our hearts...like a step back in time.

"O'Kelley's Farmhouse was the perfect place to stay and explore the Asheville area antique stores. We explored during the day and came back to the farmhouse to relax, cook on the outside grill and sit on the farmhouse front porch. The property is beautiful and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. Since the blue ridge parkway was just minutes from the house, we saw some wonderful views of the mountains. The upstairs hide- a- way was a perfect place for our grown daughter to have a space for herself. Our side-trips included Asheville, Waynesville, Hendersonville, and Chimney Rock...all were close and made for enjoyable days. The House was decorated with antiques but still had all the modern conveniences...We so want to return some day."

  • Great cabin for a mountain vacation/getaway

"Our family spent a week at Flying Squirrel. This was our second stay at the cottage and we enjoyed our stay each time. From hiking on the numerous trails in the deep forests to enjoying the culture of nearby Brevard, activities are endless (don't miss the live music of Mountain Music Mondays at the Oskar Blues Brewery!) Flying Squirrel is very comfortable and relaxing. Our family of four had plenty of space to spend time together and still have our own space, when needed. The view of the lake from the deck is beautiful, particularly on a sunny morning. The cottage is clean and well maintained. The kitchen supplies were more than we expected. Even though we were there in November, we were warm and comfortable the whole time. There is so much to do and enjoy about this part of North Carolina and Flying Squirrel fits in perfectly with the mountain environment. Thank you, Sally, for the hospitality. We look forward to our next visit."

  • Perfect vacation home

"The house is beautiful with plenty of space to spread out or get together. Since the weather was good, we spent most of our time on the big deck overlooking the New River with the tubers and canoers passing by. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of room for a group to cook. While there were only six of us, it would be a perfect spot for four couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."
