  • Beautiful House in a Great Area

"My Fiance and I, along with our Golden Retrievers, stayed here with a few friends for a weekend getaway and had an absolute blast. The house is just as cute as it looks in the pictures and is in a great location. We went down into Banner Elk on the first day and ate at The Bayou, which is a great little dive bar with good food. The next morning we woke up and rented our gear from the ski shack, which is conveniently located right across the main road. We then drove up to Beech Mountain which is only about a 10 min drive for a day full of skiing. That night, we all got in the hot tub to help heal our sore bodies. I would definitely recommend this house to any group of 2 - 5 people looking for an beautiful, affordable rental property in a great location. Thanks for letting us stay at Tall Timbers, we will definitely be back!"

  • Peace and Tranquility

"My wife, 2 daughters and I stayed here for a couple of nights as we visited Tweetsie and Boone. We enjoyed every minute of it. This was remote enough to feel like your were back in the 1920's yet had modern amemnities and easy access to Blowing Rock and Boone. My girls loved the roosters, goats and cows. Both mornings we were greeted by a different wandering dog that just wanted to hangout for 20 minutes and then moved on to another visit. Can't wait to get back. Thanks for making this gem available to us. God bless you."

  • A perfect experience

"We were so pleased with our trip to the Farm House. The views were amazing, the house itself was perfect in every way, the animals were great and we had an absolutely perfect experience. We were so sad to leave and we are already trying to figure out when we can come back for a longer stay. Marsha was easy to work with and very responsive to all of my emails. The property was clean and well maintained, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we could ever need. I would highly recommend this property to anybody traveling in the area, but especially those with kids of any age."

  • Price Family

"We've lost track of how many summers we've visited Papa Bob's Cabin! We thoroughly enjoy it each time we come. It is so peaceful and quiet. The views are spectacular, and the sun setting over the mountains can be breathtaking. And Papa Bob's gives a front row seat to watch! We love the beauty of nature all around us, and it's always interesting to see what wildlife we see on each trip! There is enough shade to sit on the dock for a good part of the day, for those of us who don't like to bake in the sun! It's pleasantly cool and relaxing. Our family fishes and explores Lake Lure in the kayaks, canoe, and paddleboat. Chimney Rock is close by.....a must see! There are several good restaurants.....we really enjoy La Strada. And Riverside Riding Stables offers fun trail rides (cash only!). The kitchen in the cabin is well stocked, and the cabin is always clean and neat when we arrive. Tom and Jenny are very personable and do all they can to make sure our stay is comfortable. We keep saying we need to visit on a fall weekend to see the leaves! We highly recommend Papa Bob's Cabin as a vacation spot!"
