  • If you want a quiet, coastal getaway with convenience, this is the place

"Overall, the house was in a quiet location, It almost felt like we were excluded from the hustle and bustle of the island on a crowded holiday weekend. Loved the private dock, although the water depths there aren't really conducive for fishing or mooring a boat. But it was great to let the kids wade around in the water on the days were weren't over at the beach. It's really about the location for this property. Located within walking distance of the beach, putt putt golf, go karts, a seafood market, and the Big Oak Drive-In restaurant (famous for their shrimp burgers). The only negative is that the house is 3 stories, and the kitchen/ living rooms are located on the very top floor, so if you don't like stairs, you might want consider another place. But overall, great location and worth the low rates, for sure. The owner is very nice to work with, too."

  • Beaufort Cottage

"We had a wonderful family vacation at Beaufort Cottage! The house was very clean and well organized. We loved having the ping pong table, bikes and beach chairs. Sitting on the front porch and back deck were very pleasant places to hang out and have great conversations. We were a short drive from great restaurants and the water ferry."

  • Peaceful Location

"Great location a short distance away from the tourist area of downtown. The home was well equipped, especially the kitchen, and we cooked most meals there. The screened in porch was our favourite room just sitting watching the water and the fireworks for July 4th across the river. We did eat at Blackbeard's just down 70 and Ribeye's downtown. Both were very good and we'd eat there again. We took the ferry out to Shackleford Island and saw one group of horses but took the first ferry back after half an hour as it was too hot and there was no shade. Took the Cedar Island ferry to Ocracoke Island and enjoyed it very much. The small town of Ocracoke has many tourist stores and a few restaurants but we enjoyed the ferry ride the most. If you are looking for a quite location, this is the place. Thank you to the King's for sharing their home and also allowing our dogs to join us."
