  • absolutely perfect weekend getaway!

"I have loved Beaufort ever since my first visit 7 years ago and now it is even more enjoyable since I found this place to stay last year. I usually stay at the Inlet inn on front street which is great but I wanted something more private and a little less noisey since this small town has grown in popularity. We decided to stay in the carrige house which was absolute charming and perfect for just 2 people. It was immculate and had a very well stocked kitchen with a very cute screened in porch which was perfect to hang out on and have a glass of wine before walking to one of the many great restaurants near by for dinner. All the restaurants are great but I highly recommend the Salt box because its low key and everything is made from scratch, even the ketchup! The owners are very nice and even let us borrow their bikes to to explore. We have already booked our second stay and can't wait to go back!"

"This property was clean, cozy and charming. The owners go the extra step to make your stay a pleasant one.The cookware is clean and in good condition. It is so convenient to Front Street and Taylors Creek. The restaurants and shops are within close proximity. You can park your vehicle and leave it until you are ready to leave. I would definitely like to stay here again when we are in the area."

  • Peaceful Location

"Great location a short distance away from the tourist area of downtown. The home was well equipped, especially the kitchen, and we cooked most meals there. The screened in porch was our favourite room just sitting watching the water and the fireworks for July 4th across the river. We did eat at Blackbeard's just down 70 and Ribeye's downtown. Both were very good and we'd eat there again. We took the ferry out to Shackleford Island and saw one group of horses but took the first ferry back after half an hour as it was too hot and there was no shade. Took the Cedar Island ferry to Ocracoke Island and enjoyed it very much. The small town of Ocracoke has many tourist stores and a few restaurants but we enjoyed the ferry ride the most. If you are looking for a quite location, this is the place. Thank you to the King's for sharing their home and also allowing our dogs to join us."
