  • Summer 2016 - vacation was perfect!

"I want to thank you the house owner for getting us a chance to stay there. My friends and my family were happy spending time that week. The house location was wonderful ! It was 10 -20 minutes away from different entertainments : mini golfs , cart riding, mini water park, a Loin Food and other small stores, kayak and water bikes. It is good place for adventure seekers. House was clean and good maintained. We rented the house for a week and owner provided linens and towels for free. A lot of plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery - there were no needs to use a plastic dinnerware. Main floor was to high to have nice ocean view from deck despite second house row location. We also found many board games and movies for kids and adult, baby dining chair and wave body boards. Just want to describe a little bit more that house: - ground floor - laundry only - first floor - 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom (one private and one shared) - second floor was main floor with one more bedroom and one bathroom - forth floor - huge room with four twin beds for kids - NO DOOR ! I put 4 stars of 5 because the fourth level bedroom was not so comfortable to sleep in. If someone woke up early for breakfast, all kids woke up too, because any noise on main floor came to upper level room without doors. Thank you for reading."

  • Perfect slice of paradise for two!

"The owner was very easy to work with in communication before the trip. The condo is in a great location with ocean views and easy access to the beach. It is decorated in a fun, beach theme throughout, and is fully supplied with anything you might need even though we took mostly everything with us (foil, plastic wrap, dish liquid, laundry detergent, seasonings, etc.). We REALLY loved having access to the beach-gear storage area for our beach cart, chairs, umbrella, etc, and was a real plus compared to other places we've stayed before. There are many owners who live at Queens Court and it was great to talk to people who've made this condo resort their home. My husband and I absolutely LOVED Emerald Isle and surrounding area, as it is not very touristy and is pretty quiet, yet plenty to do for families looking for evening activities. We will certainly be back, and wouldn't hesitate renting from this owner again! Very easy to work with and pleasant! We only ate out 3 times, as we planned to purchase seafood and cook in during most of our stay, which we did. We went to Island Grille up in Atlantic Beach on Monday night for their BOGO select menu (offered Mon and Tue only - YOU NEED a reservation!). Parking was difficult to find as we had to park down by the pier and walk the beach to the restaurant, which was fine. It is a very small place, that seats about 50 or so, and tables are close together. We didn't mind and actually enjoyed talking to the people on either side and got great recommendations from them as well. We also ate at the Crab Shack one night (check on Restaurant.com prior to going - I purchased a $25 off GC on an order of $50 or more for $5 the night before we left for vacation!) and we both ordered 2 lbs of steamed crab legs - they were scrumptious! No reservations accepted, so plan to wait. You can go in and purchase beer or wine while you wait out along the water, so it's not that bad, especially if you go closer to sunset when it's not so hot outside to wait. We also grabbed the "infamous" shrimp burger at the Big Oaks Drive In. It was pretty good - fried shrimp with ketchup, coleslaw, and cocktail sauce. For purchasing seafood, we learned to stay away from the "bigger names" because they tend to charge "tourist" prices. We'd highly recommend Normans Fresh Shrimp & Seafood which is just N of Big Oaks Drive In, opposite side of the road.Find the hole-in the wall places for the best prices!"

  • Family Vacation

"My family (18 of us) rented both East and West Kindred Spirit and had such a wonderful time. We were there for a week and enjoyed the pool, walking the beach. All the guys even got to boogie-board with 15 foot waves coming in. It was a beautiful time for all of us to be together! I so loved the early mornings on the upper deck!!"

  • Beautiful and comfortable and Emerald green water!

"This home is the perfect combination of space, comfort, accessibility, locality and serenity. There is plenty of room for an extended family—we had 12 people, ages 2 - 77. The house is beautifully decorated "beach style" that is fun and whimsical, yet so comfortable and "homey" that we didn't feel like intruders. Bettie's pride of ownership really shines through. The beach was right outside your door, with minimal steps for a beach house. It was situated on a very quiet residential street, but just minutes away from shopping and necessities. And it was incredibly peaceful—the beach was NEVER crowded, even on a weekend in peak season. I was worried about sharing a duplex, but the layout is so separate that we never even knew if there were people in the other side of the house. We will definitely be coming back to this one. I highly recommend this property!"
