"The owner was very easy to work with in communication before the trip. The condo is in a great location with ocean views and easy access to the beach. It is decorated in a fun, beach theme throughout, and is fully supplied with anything you might need even though we took mostly everything with us (foil, plastic wrap, dish liquid, laundry detergent, seasonings, etc.). We REALLY loved having access to the beach-gear storage area for our beach cart, chairs, umbrella, etc, and was a real plus compared to other places we've stayed before. There are many owners who live at Queens Court and it was great to talk to people who've made this condo resort their home. My husband and I absolutely LOVED Emerald Isle and surrounding area, as it is not very touristy and is pretty quiet, yet plenty to do for families looking for evening activities. We will certainly be back, and wouldn't hesitate renting from this owner again! Very easy to work with and pleasant!
We only ate out 3 times, as we planned to purchase seafood and cook in during most of our stay, which we did. We went to Island Grille up in Atlantic Beach on Monday night for their BOGO select menu (offered Mon and Tue only - YOU NEED a reservation!). Parking was difficult to find as we had to park down by the pier and walk the beach to the restaurant, which was fine. It is a very small place, that seats about 50 or so, and tables are close together. We didn't mind and actually enjoyed talking to the people on either side and got great recommendations from them as well. We also ate at the Crab Shack one night (check on Restaurant.com prior to going - I purchased a $25 off GC on an order of $50 or more for $5 the night before we left for vacation!) and we both ordered 2 lbs of steamed crab legs - they were scrumptious! No reservations accepted, so plan to wait. You can go in and purchase beer or wine while you wait out along the water, so it's not that bad, especially if you go closer to sunset when it's not so hot outside to wait. We also grabbed the "infamous" shrimp burger at the Big Oaks Drive In. It was pretty good - fried shrimp with ketchup, coleslaw, and cocktail sauce.
For purchasing seafood, we learned to stay away from the "bigger names" because they tend to charge "tourist" prices. We'd highly recommend Normans Fresh Shrimp & Seafood which is just N of Big Oaks Drive In, opposite side of the road.Find the hole-in the wall places for the best prices!"
