  • All we hoped for and more!

"This was a family trip. We had our oldest grown son and his wife with 2 kids (Kentucky), our next son and his wife and child (Indiana), our daughter and husband (Arizona), and our two sons who live at home (Indiana). We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We ate in almost every meal and it worked out great for us. The trip to the beach was a short one or the pool or hot tub was there too! We have not done a trip of this magnitude before so we were not exactly 'trip savvy' on the ends and outs of what to bring and what we could get locally. We found the local grocery more than adequate and the gas was cheaper than home! Next time we will not pack as much! The only downfall to report was the week of weather - Hurricane Bonnie brought us rain. This is completely unavoidable however and we made the best of the sunshine we had. This "family tides" home - more affectionately know to my 6 year old grandson as the "big red house" was exactly as pictured online! God bless the property owners for making this home a place for families to build memories to last forever!!"

  • Peace at the Beach

"Our family of 12 (including grandparents, children and grandchildren) has vacationed at the Weaver's house for 6 years. We look forward to our Duck vacation and making memories every summer. The house is hidden on a quiet court giving you a sense of privacy. It has plenty of parking and a big yard. With bedrooms on 3 levels there is a sense of privacy, even with 12 people in the house. The house is very well furnished (including 2 refrigerators), clean, and accommodating. In this natural community, don't be surprised to see a doe and her fawn(s) in the yard, or a turtle in the road. It's a very short walk to the beach, which is convenient whether you're headed there for sunbathing, fishing, kite flying, walking on the beach, or just sitting in a chair, watching and listening to the waves while the sun sets. The beach sand is very fine and is great for walking barefoot or making sand castles. Sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the morning while watching the ocean is a peaceful way to start the day. Star gazing at night on the roof top deck is a favorite of all. The Weaver's USA flag, which is lit at night, leaves you with a sense of pride, patriotism and appreciation to be able to vacation on the Atlantic Ocean and the family friendly Town of Duck. Needless to say, we love the Weaver's house and Duck, NC."

  • Perfect location, beautiful home, even the dogs had a blast!

"This was just a dream of a vacation.. everything about it was perfect! The home is much smaller than surrounding homes which was exactly what we wanted. It is located 'a dune away' from the beach, which is a nice walk. There is one house closer to the beach but not close to the Beach Box as far as privacy goes. There is a large home next door but even still it is not on the deck-side of the house, so it is still private. Perfect for couples or small families. The inside is just as pictured, clean and beautiful, lots of windows. The deck faces the ocean, although you can't see it because of the dunes, its still very private and nice to lay out in the sun. or enjoy the hot tub at night. We saw the wild horses everywhere, on the beach, right outside the house, etc. Lots of walking trails around the 'neighborhood'. We brought our two dogs, they loved the beach & exploring the beautiful area. To get to the house you must drive about 8 miles on the beach, you definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and to let the air out of your tires. Even with 4 wheel drive we saw quite a few trucks and SUVs stuck in the sand, so just a warning. But being that far away from everything just adds to the peace and seclusion. We highly recommend this home. The owner, Heidi, was a pleasure to work with too :)"

  • Perfect laid back family vacation

"My kids and I just spent the last week in Cottage #2 and we had such a great experience. The cottage was perfect for our needs. Very clean, quaint and well appointed -- perfect for us. This was the first time we traveled with our dog and we all had a blast. We loved the front porch and the outdoor shower. We will definitely be back. John, thank you so much!"
