  • Perfect

"We are enjoying out stay here. It's the closest to the beach you can get in this area for this price. The decor could be a bit better (have a more beachy feel), and it smelled like smoke when we first got here, but nothing a little cleaner can't fix. The location is perfect. The managers have been awesome. The house isn't too small for my husband, 7 month old and I. We were surprised with how roomy everything feels. WiFi is spotty, but we aren't here to browse the internet, so I can't really complain about that. Overall, we definitely plan to return many times. Definitely our new vacation spot."

  • Beach adventure awaits you.

"This was our first visit to the OBX area. I've been told by friends how wonderful the Carolina coast was. But they aren't the type of people who would actually drive 6.5 miles up the beach to get to the house. However I am an adventure seeking go getter. Absolutely loved the beach and everything this area had to offer. So thrilled I was able to give my family a vacation they will always remember. The house was very comfortable and had all the comforts of home. It was so nice to bring the whole family including our dog The beach was within walking distance which we did the first day. However we did drive to the beach several times just for the convenience of carrying beach gear. The house had plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys. We saw wild horses in the yard and on the beach. We also saw dolphins in the early evening jumping in the ocean. I called the owner of the house to let them know the dishwasher wasn't working. They replaced it the very next day. Many thanks to them for going out of their way to make sure that everything thing was good. If you have the opportunity drive north a short distance on Ocean Pearl to visit the Carova Volunteer Fire Department. There you can get souvenirs and T-shirts to help support the fire department. I hope my review of the house and the area helps you."

  • Great getaway for our family!

"Our family of four had the best time at this home and on the 4WD beach. It was nice to unplug from everything at home for a long weekend with our two kids (ages 4 and 2). The home's layout was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the short walk over the dune to the beach, weather was perfect, saw tons of wild horses and Dolphins really close in. We also enjoyed kayaking on the bay. Great vacation!!"

  • Dream Beach Vacation

"My family of 13 drove all the way from New Hampshire to stay at Ocean's End last week. The drive across the 4x4 beach was bumpy (you definitely need 4-wheel drive), but it was so worth it! This house is absolutely beautiful and the views from its many decks are stunning! The house is also huge--plenty of room for all 13 of us. We made the 5-minute walk to the beach almost every day to enjoy NC's soft sand and warm water (compared to the Northeast, anyways). Just in case you're not up for the quick walk, there's also a swimming pool and hot tub for some at-home fun. We played our volleyball games on the beach, but the volleyball net in the backyard is a great option for family fun too. The wild horses are such an incredible thing to witness--and they were all over the place all week! On one day, there was a congregation of 10 or so of them under the house's carport! Kitty Hawk and the Wright brothers memorial is about an hour and a half from the house--we would definitely recommend experiencing that piece of history. Sometime during your stay you also have to go to Jockeys Ridge to see the sunset over the dunes--breathtaking! My husband and I took a drive to three of NC's lighthouses and we climbed Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, which offered some amazing views of the coast. As for practicality, the kitchen is beautiful and very functional. It was pretty well stocked, although there were some minor things we missed while cooking, like extra frying pans since there are so many of us. Having the water bubbler was also great because we were able to use fewer plastic water bottles. The only drawback to being so isolated is that there's about an hour drive into town for groceries/supplies, so if you realize last minute that you're missing something, it's a pain. However, if you stock up with food and supplies at the beginning of your trip, that won't be a problem. And trust me, this house is worth the trouble of planning ahead! Tim and Linda were great--they gave us detailed instructions ahead of time for checking in and left a nice little gift bag with wine, toilet paper, and some other necessities for us. We didn't have to contact them, although they left us phone numbers in case we needed to. The house is also right next to the fire department and a small store--the people there are very friendly and helpful. Overall, this vacation was wonderful and unforgettable. Stay at Ocean's End--you won't regret it!"
