  • Stay Here!

"Tim and Cindy are fantastic to work with. Their home is unbelievably well kept and stocked with tons of goodies for cooking, fun at the beach and in the pool. The weekly is tremendous compared to that of other comparable homes. The photos are not up to date, with many upgrades having been completed since they were taken. This is a quiet, shaded lot with easy beach access (use the path from the cul de sac!). What a great week in the OBX!"

  • Excellent home for a family vacation

"This is the second summer we've vacationed at AquaDuck with our family, and we hope to be back next summer for a third visit. The house is extremely well maintained and exceptionally clean. All the beds are comfortable, as is the furniture, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. In addition, the Mills welcome us each summer with a goodie bag for the family to enjoy. Such a nice gesture! The house is well situated, being only 3 houses from the dunes and the beach, and the decks are great for watching some beautiful sunsets. Many thanks for making our family's vacation so very special."

  • October at the Red Octopus is Magnificent!

"Our second stay at the Red Octopus was this October and we loved every minute. The raw beauty was stunning as the sky seemed to change from storm clouds to sunshine in moments. We watched a fisherman work hard to bring in a huge catch before he lost it in front of a small cheering crowd that had stopped to watch. Most of the time we felt like we owned the fine-sand, wonderfully broad beach. The clean, cozy home has every amenity you can imagine and then some. Gourmet cooks will be delighted with the fully equipped kitchen. Maybe our favorite time was in the morning sipping coffee and watching the day break on the upper deck as the horses came to visit below. This property has our highest recommendation!"

  • Our Family Felt Right at Home

"Just got home from a week at Funk 'N' Treasure, and felt compelled to share our experience. My wife and I went there with our 2 teenage daughters (ages 15 and 16), and each of them brought 3 friends. Oh, and our dog, Bella, came along too. That's 10 girls (counting Bella) and me. The house itself is lovely. Very spacious and clean. When we were home, we spent a lot of time in the great room and dining room hanging out, playing games, watching movies, etc. The kitchen was spacious with a very large island and is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, and just about anything you would need for cooking. The kids really enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub, and also spent some time playing basketball out front. We were just a short walk from the beach, which was nice and not too crowded. We were located very close to shopping, restaurants, etc. We were within a mile or so of two supermarkets, which was convenient. We were able to stock up the kitchen the night we got there, which worked out great. We were also very close to a Dunkin' Donuts and a Starbucks, which earned me the responsibility of picking up my wife's latte every morning. We rented bicycles for the kids, who were able to ride around independently, which was nice. They would ride over to places like Timbuck II (maybe 0.5 miles away), which has many nice shops, places to eat, go karts, mini golf, etc. They took turns getting their hair braided, getting matching henna tattoos, and other girl stuff. We went over to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse one afternoon, climbed to the top, and enjoyed the view - I definitely recommend doing that if you ever get to Corolla. By the way, our visit was in late March, and we were delighted with the weather - it was in the low-to-mid 70's most days, with one day a bit rainy and cool, and one day up around 80. Could not have asked for better weather! Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention how responsive Carri Funk was. I had a few questions for her before we arrived and a couple while we were there. She responded within minutes (or quicker) each time. Our family really enjoyed staying at Funk 'N' Treasure, and would recommend it to anyone heading to Corolla."
