  • Great house, location and vacation!

"We've been coming back to this house for 9 years straight nowadays it could be better. With all the space (8 rooms) everyone has a place to sleep. They have this great top deck that towers over the other houses and you can even see the ocean from it! 10/10 would recomend this house to anyone."

  • Delightful, well-kept, comfortable cottage!

"Our family truly loved our stay in this house. It's only a short stroll to the beach, where we spent most of our time, but we wouldn't have been sad if there had been bad weather days, because the cottage is so welcoming and well-organized. It has a top-floor deck for watching the thousands of stars and the Milky Way at night, a screened-in porch for reading and drinking tea outside without getting sunburned (or wet, if it's raining), and a ping-pong table under the house on the garden level, to play at the end of the day. We did all of the above! The house is on a quiet street, and we slept peacefully at night--hard to believe it was the busy month of August! It's an easy walk to the Sound side, too, where we all walked one evening to watch the herons, geese, and sunset. The owners have furnished the house with many thoughtful touches. There are lovely paintings and photographs (much of it the work of the owner, I believe) on the walls, and lots of beach treasures to admire inside and out. It's obviously a well-loved house. We were thrilled to find beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards there so we didn't have to pack our own. And we could see the house is supplied with lots of other beach equipment, too, geared toward children younger than our two. The owner kindly gave us tips about local sights and services and responded to questions both before and during our stay. But because we were enjoying the beach and the house so much, we didn't make many shopping trips: an afternoon to stock up at the Food Lion; a couple of morning runs to Tommy's Market for pastry; and Scarborough Faire for the wonderful Island Bookstore and shops, none of these very far away. We were all sorry to leave and are already discussing when to return!"

  • FALL into Duck

"Just returned from a brief (3 night) but spectacular stay at this beautiful, perfectly situated, well appointed Beach home. We couldn't decide if we were in a serene mountain setting or an oceanside resort community. This home has it all! There were only 4 of us, but this home was perfectly laid out for a large family gathering. We spent our mornings with coffee on the awesome wrap porch, our afternoons on the beach, and our evenings dining out at one of the many excellent restaurants suggested by the Autlers in their package of information, well thought out and delivered in advance of our vacation. Their wealth of information gave us an opportunity to plan our days and evenings prior to arrival. This was one of our most pleasant vacations and experiences...ever. Thank you!!"
