  • beautiful home fantastic location

"We had a wonderful time at this home! The location is perfect with breathtaking views of the sound and a short walk to the beach. We even walked to go Jetskiing and found everything very convenient. There are a few issues that need attention but they are small and the house has so many positives the negatives just seem insignificant."

  • House was a Jewel

"The Jewel of Denial is a great home in Duck that is nicely appointed, full of nice features (even labeled) and best of all CLEAN. After 40 weeks of rentals in OBX, it was nice to get a home that was in such great condition. Super clean kitchen that had outstanding features, eating and cooking wear and lots of space. Leisure spaces were pretty new and the electronics were in great shape (nice TVs, high end stereo and fast internet). We only used 5 of the 8 bedrooms and they were all just fine. Washer was new and worked great. Only thing that would make things 105% awesome would be a better ice cube maker as the refrig could not keep up to demand and hot tub jet performance needs attention. Management company was great to work with and we were treated with 2 fruit pies (still warm) mid week. Nice touch and appreciated. Had a great visit and the Four Seasons sub was wonderful with nice pools, beach access and other services. See you next year."

  • Peace at the Beach

"Our family of 12 (including grandparents, children and grandchildren) has vacationed at the Weaver's house for 6 years. We look forward to our Duck vacation and making memories every summer. The house is hidden on a quiet court giving you a sense of privacy. It has plenty of parking and a big yard. With bedrooms on 3 levels there is a sense of privacy, even with 12 people in the house. The house is very well furnished (including 2 refrigerators), clean, and accommodating. In this natural community, don't be surprised to see a doe and her fawn(s) in the yard, or a turtle in the road. It's a very short walk to the beach, which is convenient whether you're headed there for sunbathing, fishing, kite flying, walking on the beach, or just sitting in a chair, watching and listening to the waves while the sun sets. The beach sand is very fine and is great for walking barefoot or making sand castles. Sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the morning while watching the ocean is a peaceful way to start the day. Star gazing at night on the roof top deck is a favorite of all. The Weaver's USA flag, which is lit at night, leaves you with a sense of pride, patriotism and appreciation to be able to vacation on the Atlantic Ocean and the family friendly Town of Duck. Needless to say, we love the Weaver's house and Duck, NC."

  • Couldn't be better!

"I was going to discuss the pros and cons of vacationing at Seaquester, but there just are no cons. We are a family of seven adults and we had a blast at Seaquester. First of all, Patti at Great Escapes was so kind and helpful, and their cleaning crew did a fantastic job- the house and bathrooms were very clean (and I am fussy). There are four king bedrooms with their own bath and a room with two bunk beds, which we didn't need to use. The top floor has a master bedroom, the living room, dining room and kitchen (with everything you could want). The two refrigerators were wonderful - we used on for ice and beverages and the other for food. There are two coffee makers so we had one for regular and one for decaf! That was a nice touch. Great Escapes also left us a small basket of a few necessities and the kitchen has spices, but you do need to bring most everything for food and cleaning, though each bathroom has a dispenser of hand soap, another nice touch. And the multiple light switches are labeled- you can tell the owners have really thought of ways to make their home easy to love. There is a screened in porch for the master bedroom and a screened in dining room as well, with wrap around decks on the top 2 floors. So lots of space for couples privacy and lots of space for us all to get together. The pool is great, and after we decided you didn't need to be a kid to use it, we all had fun on the water slide. Lots of loungers, an umbrella table, chairs, and pool toys as well. The hot tub was such a treat. The pool and hot tub were super clean when we arrived on Saturday, and the pool maintenance guy came again on Tuesday. Did I mention the private walkway to the sandy beach right on the ocean? The house is beachy, but not kitchy- soft blues and neutrals, very comfy beds and chairs and sofas. Lots of storage space in the closets, extra blankets and pillows if you need them. We had one terrible rainy day (Tropical Storm Bonnie) but then at 5 pm my son called us out to the deck to see a full arc double rainbow! So I guess you can tell we loved the house, the location and the Outer Banks. This rental is worth every penny for the ocean front location, the pool & hot tub, the charming and comfortable interior and everything you want and need for a great family vacation. Seven thumbs up for our family! We hope to be back in 2018."
