  • Best week ever!

"My first time returning in over 16 years and had an awesome time. The house has a great layout, with the bedrooms offering privacy and the living spaces are ample, comfortable and bright. Decks on all sides of the house allow for some outdoor relaxing no matter where the wind is blowing from or the sun is pointing at. Or, if you want to experience the sunrise or sunset up close, the house is a 2 minute walk in either direction to both bodies of water. The owner had just put in some new beds and furniture prior to our arrival which was great. This isn't a run of the mill rental that gets rented until it falls apart - the owner keeps up the place and is constantly looking for improvements. Highly recommended!"

  • My new favorite Outer Banks rental

"My girlfriend, dog and I have rented a place in the Outer Banks three summers in a row and this was the best house yet. The location is excellent: a very short walk to the beach, with no traffic and no roads to cross to get there. Close enough to the beach you can hear the waves from the balcony (even if you can't see them), and it's convenient to go back and forth from the beach during the day to get refreshments or take a break. The rooms in the house are spacious and comfortably furnished. With two bathrooms, there is definitely space for two couples plus one or two kids. For two people and a dog, there is a lot of extra space for storing stuff. There is a new washer/dryer unit that works well in one of the bedrooms, and all the other appliances including the vacuum are also in good condition. The kitchen is stocked very generously with all the utensils you're likely to need for a week or more. Under the house protected from rain and sun there is parking for two cars, a great shower and privacy enclosure, a charcoal BBQ grill that we used almost every night, plus a handy clothesline and clothespins for drying towels etc. The AC in the house worked like a champ even though it was extremely hot outside. The ceiling fans helped circulate the air. Alan was super accommodating and helpful before, during and after our stay. He clearly cares about the property and takes great care of it and also wants his renters to have a good stay. I liked that the property had a "homey" feel, like staying in a friend's house (complete with games, DVDs, books, beach chairs), not just a rental, and that it is dog-friendly. Our dog loved the beach and house. We would definitely stay here again."

  • Bright, cheerful, romantic. Perfect couples getaway.

"Property was a perfect honeymoon destination. The cabana met all if our needs. We loved all the decks, especially the roof top one. Amentities were great. Quick access to the beautiful beach. Quick response from the owners when I had questions. If you're looking for a remote, off the grid kinda place..This is for you!"

  • Best value and a well cared for cottage

"This extremely well cared for cottage is by far the best value that we have stayed at in our dozen plus vacations to the Outer Banks in the last 20 years.Every room has beach themed items from the creepy sailor guy in the front room, lamps, pictures and photo's throughout tol pillows and a beautiful quilt hanging on the wall. The owners take great care and it shows. From small details like a Keurig to the back saving lift that with a push of a button will take your heavy coolers and luggage from ground up a story and a half. Very nice. Close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and the supermarket that will save you time and energy. November is off season, I was surprised on the amount of people and traffic around. While we have never been to the Outer Banks during in-season and peak my wife and I are certain there would be 3 to 4 times what we experienced. The secret must be out on off-season along with the best fishing we ever had and excellent weather. I cannot say enough about how the owners really truly care about this property and are very accommodating as they let us stay a extra day(paid extra,of course). Thank you guys for letting us share your second home. P.S. We could not find a diary/ log book to share our experience along with reading other people's fun times."
