  • Stay at OBX

"Great place and super clean. Many of extras lots of beach chairs and extra pot and pans for cooking dinner. Pool was awesome and super close to the beach. Beach was not busy and hunted ghost crabs at night. I would recommend this house!"

  • First Time to OBX

"The Area: (Rodanthe) Pros: Quiet, less crowded than northern OBX, 4x4 Beach access points Cons: Longer travel times, less commerce/activities The House: (SeaDream) Pros: Clean, well stocked kitchen, accessibility, walking distance to the beach (nice beach too!) Cons: No easy route to the beach (with chairs, babies, coolers etc), aesthetically unappealing entrance to location (abandoned waterpark of some kind at the main road) I think overall the house was not the best fit for our family with 3 kids under 1yr of age and a 60+ with limited mobility. We didn't use the hot tub, the gaming systems, the table tennis, the Foosball table or the nice TV set up with surround sound. If we did it all again, we would either stay somewhere RIGHT on the beach without all the extra's or somewhere further away and just drive our 4x4 on the beach. If the kids were 6-12 years old, they would have loved the hot tub, games, TV etc.... (and we could have made them carry things)"

  • Wonderful place to stay in Rodanthe!

"First time visitors to OBX & not being familiar with the area, we took a chance on Rodanthe & the condo "Goin' to Carolina". We couldn't have selected a more perfect spot for our vacation! Condo was comfortable, tastefully decorated in a relaxed beach theme (think sand & surf: muted, calm colors!) & met our biggest requirement: clean, Clean, CLEAN! Kitchen was well equipped but we only ate breakfast in & went out for early dining each evening so we wouldn't miss spectacular sunsets. Loved hearing the waves, lying in bed at night & 1st thing upon waking each morning. We traveled all the way south to Ocracoke Island & as far north as Currituck Sound. Highlights include: ferry trip to Ocracoke where we dined at Howard's Pub & Raw Bar for the BEST, freshest seafood; visiting all the lighthouses & Wright Brothers Memorial/museum was interesting & informative; we enjoyed delectable, all-you-can-eat crab legs at Captain George's in KDH; watching kite surfers in the evening behind Kitty Hawk Kites in Rodanthe; glorious sunsets over the sound; the beach, shells, looking for sea glass (didn't find any this trip!); relaxing and letting the cares of work & other responsibilities drift away with the ebb tide; and oh yes!! Heavenly, hot, just baked cinnamon rolls one morning from the neighbors at Sea Treasures/Ocean Gourmet - order in advance if you want a dozen! 😉 Friday night, we had an incredible meal at Basnight's Lone Cedar - highly recommend this place for the view, fresh salad & herbs grown in their very own garden outside the restaurant & again, freshest of the fresh seafood! David (the condo owner) was so easy to work with, answered questions prior to booking & called after we arrived to be sure everything at the condo met our expectations (which it did & then some!). We were convenient to anything we wanted to do but far enough away from crowds & the whole "tourist" scene, which is exactly what we wanted/needed for this vacation. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental to family & friends and should we ever return to the Outer Banks, would certainly hope we'd be fortunate enough to stay in Goin' to Carolina again. Thanks so much for an incredibly awesome place to call 'home' in Rodanthe! Lynn & Becky Yarbrough Clermont, GA"

  • Outstanding beach home

"My family has been vacationing at the Outer Banks since the late eighties, normally staying in the Duck Sanderling area or down in Nags Head area. This was our first trip to Rodanthe, can not understand what took so long to find this great area. Peaceful, quiet and very not crowded, most importantly the Hatteras Beach House far exceeded any of our expectations. My extended family of 11 loved it,it is perfect for a large family vacation, very well appointed and in great shape. Could not be better,we will return next year if we can.. Cheers. Bud"
