  • Perfect for all ages in our big family of 19!

"This house was a perfect fit for our family - 8 adults and 11 children ages 2 - 18: the proximity from the beach and to the local sights, the pool table, pool and hot tub, even built in child gates on each level. The beach was beautiful and offered lots of room for our tribe. Waves were suitable for our surfers and the tide pools were great for the toddlers. The number and size of bedrooms and baths were especially good. But, the "public area" on the top floor was just beautiful. Large windows enabled sea sightings even though the house is not situated beachfront. The soaring ceiling, the furniture and layout at the seating area, the wonderful kitchen ( with two dishwashers - Yes!) and dining area all worked together for ample elbow room with our large group. Lisa was most accommodating, answering emailed questions promptly and patiently. We would recommend this house enthusiastically! (As far as "age 55+" - the main living area is on the third floor and if there are any leg/stair issues, this is something to take into consideration.)"

  • Love this house!

"Really enjoyed our October stay in the house. The owner is super easy to work with and very professional. The house was exactly as expected, clean, great light and great location. Nice walk to the beach and great exercise going up and down the stairs. Like the look of the pool and tennis courts too. We really enjoyed AMs on the front porch and PMs on the back porch over looking the lake. Also, sunsets are a must at the Haulover area right outside Avon while watching the Kite surfing...a premier location on the East Coast! And dinner at Pangea and hanging out by the Pier was also a favorite. Uglie Mugs has great coffee, goodies and art too. Great place and we will be back!"

  • Best value and a well cared for cottage

"This extremely well cared for cottage is by far the best value that we have stayed at in our dozen plus vacations to the Outer Banks in the last 20 years.Every room has beach themed items from the creepy sailor guy in the front room, lamps, pictures and photo's throughout tol pillows and a beautiful quilt hanging on the wall. The owners take great care and it shows. From small details like a Keurig to the back saving lift that with a push of a button will take your heavy coolers and luggage from ground up a story and a half. Very nice. Close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and the supermarket that will save you time and energy. November is off season, I was surprised on the amount of people and traffic around. While we have never been to the Outer Banks during in-season and peak my wife and I are certain there would be 3 to 4 times what we experienced. The secret must be out on off-season along with the best fishing we ever had and excellent weather. I cannot say enough about how the owners really truly care about this property and are very accommodating as they let us stay a extra day(paid extra,of course). Thank you guys for letting us share your second home. P.S. We could not find a diary/ log book to share our experience along with reading other people's fun times."

  • Great beach cottage

"We had a great stay here! We came to Rodanthe for a quiet, relaxing vacation with our 4 month old daughter and two pups, and that is exactly what we got. The house is well equipped with anything you would need. We stayed in an cooked dinner every night and the house had everything we needed to cook full meals. There are a few restaurants and shopping just a short distance away (within walking). The beach is at the end of the street and very accessible (even with toting a baby and everything that goes along with one!). The beach cart was VERY helpful in that regard! The owners were very nice and check in/out was a really easy process. The house was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting on the crows nest feeling the ocean breeze with coffee (or cocktails!). I wouldn't hesitate to rent here again. Thanks for having us!"
