  • A True and Absolute Seamist Escape with stunning views and accommodations!

"If I had to use only one word to describe our stay @ Seamist Escape, it wouldn't be possible at all! Words like stunning, restful, charming would not begin to describe it. Seamist Escape for me has now topped my last of return visits! People always talk about their happy place and where that would be. Well, mine is definitely here. It just makes my soul happy. Skip and Pat were extraordinary and worked with us to make our 20th Anniversary the very best. Memories of Seamist Escape will always be etched in our day to day lives. (I hope that we will be invited back!) The views of the ocean from every room bordered with the sound of the ocean made it a very relaxing and peaceful trip. Gone were the sounds of traffic and everyday noise, replaced with the tranquility of the harmony of the ocean. If what you want is rest, please make a request to stay here. The rooms were big and stylishly decorated with everything nautical from the tiniest seashell to lighthouses. The porch was situated such that their was always a view of sunrises and ocean dreams. The biggest other joy was the kitchen and cooking while the ocean sounded around you. The kitchen was soundly stocked with what ever that you needed down to the chicken bouillon that is a staple in our own home. Day trips to Ocracoke and Hatteras were easy trips and worth the extra effort to see. The Cape Hatteras Seashore is a absolutely the most amazing place to see, from sand dunes over 25 feet high to estuaries in the natural reserves. If you are looking for a place that is relaxing and peaceful, this is it. I would like to personally thank both Skip and Pat for their hospitality and sharing their home with us, it was truly a soulful and heartfelt experience. We would highly recommend Seamist Escape to anyone who loves the ocean and would like to "escape" reality if only for a short time. Todd and Leah Bagwell"

  • A truly beautiful home with up to date ammenities and owners who really care about their guests.

"Our family just returned home from a week's stay at this beautiful home. When we arrived Tropical Storm Hermine was in full force on Hatteras. The owners kept in contact with us by phone as we traveled and kept us updated as to the road conditions. When we arrived the home was clean and ready for us. Any time we had a question about where something was or if a particular item was in the home all it took was a quick email or phone call and we got an immediate response. The pool/hot tub and pool bar area was a perfect place to gather during the day. The sound system that runs throughout the house was always on and definitely enjoyed. We also loved that the family members that brought kayaks could enter the water right from our own beach and dock. Our dogs also had a great time as the entire back yard and pool area is securely fenced in. Although we didn't use the cinema room but once, if you had a bad weather day or lots of children it would have been a real asset. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, coffee makers, utensils and cookware! Everything you could possibly need was in there. There were two large ice machines that got constant use. The dining area had so much seating that the twelve of us could all sit down and eat our meals together. The beds were very comfortable and the view from all the rooms was spectacular. Each bedroom had access to a deck and comfy chairs. Our pictures and view of the sunsets are stunning. We look forward to returning to this home again and again. Keith & Kristie Rapp"

  • A relaxing winter week

"After being regular summer visitors to OBX, we decided to try it out in the winter. We found this nicely appointed vacation home on the sound side in Frisco. The fully stocked kitchen, wonderful sun room, comfy bed, and fluffy towels all helped to make our stay enjoyable. When a problem with the cable feed cropped up, Susan, the owner, was right on it and got the cable guy out there right away. Winter at OBX is quite different with hardly any tourists, and we met many wonderful local residents. Many of the restaurants are closed or on partial schedules, so be careful when planning to go out to eat."

  • Great spot, lots to do....

"Las Palmas is a great vacation home on Hatteras Island. I've been traveling to the OBX for 30+ years, and Rodanthe is my favorite town. Quiet, yet plenty to do. In striking distance of several light houses, walking distance to the pier and restaurants. Olga was more than accommodating, and very responsive to our requests. The house is in great shape, and has a home owner's feel, less of a rental cottage. The kitchen is fully stocked, the pool is very nice and quite large for a rental. I also like the ease of check in booking through VRBO en lieu of booking with the rental agencies. We had a great time and would stay here again for sure."
