  • Wedding/Reunion Best Choice!!!

"We stayed here for a week with a small group of family and friends then more came in Thursday and Friday for a wedding on Friday evening. They had no qualms with us having a couple of dinners at the house for the whole group and the Days Inn next door (which manages the property) even let us park our overflow there. Another word about the Days Inn, having them next door as the go to made issues that pop up so EASY. Our wi-fi was acting up one morning and someone was right over to look at it. (turned out to be a problem with the DSL that was resolved before the guy got there) On our second to last morning one of the coffee pots died. I walked over, reported it, walked back went to my room for something and came out to being told "Someone just brought over a coffee pot." That's service! The house itself... Just look at the pictures. Every room was great. The master suite was fantastic. No neighbors. NO NEIGHBORS!!!! I had to find a place completely online from Phoenix, AZ so I looked at pictures, satellite imagery, reviews... anything I could get my hands on. Almost every place I looked at for this size, with these amenities and in this price range were all right on top of one another. This place has NO NEIGHBORS! And the public access next door wasn't a problem at all either. I had visions of John Candy eating breakfast in the movie Summer Rental with everyone looking in and asking to use his bathroom but we had nary a problem all week. I don't know when we will be back to the Outer Banks or with how many people but if the needs and circumstance ever are the same we would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • Close to everything!

"We stayed at the Atlantic Inn coming in for a family event, staying on the back porch. The location is close to the beach, and across the street from a GREAT place for breakfast (Stack 'em High Pancakes - but get there early - the line starts pretty quickly after they open). The unit includes a small kitchenette with a sink, coffee maker, small fridge and microwave, and plenty of storage. There's a futon in the sitting area, and small eating table. The bed was comfy, and there's access to plenty of towels for the shower that you can swap out when you need to. There's coolers, umbrellas and chairs for the beach, but remember to bring beach towels. You have access to a full kitchen with everything you need to cook and eat if you'd like, an ice machine to fill up your coolers, outdoor showers to rinse off after the beach, and a large back yard. George is only a phone call away for anything you need, and was there to let us into our unit when we got into town a little earlier than we thought. Rated a 4 because there's really no place to hang clothes other than a hook over the door to the next unit, and no door between the bedroom and sitting area, so if you're with someone who is on a different sleeping schedule than you, it makes it a little hard. But still a good place to stay that's convenient to everything - Wright Brothers museum down the street, Hatteras not far away, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. And don't miss Duck Donuts!!!"

  • Fantastic summer getaway!

"I was quite optimistic about how nice it would be to stay here, but upon arriving I was surprised to find that the place is honestly even nicer and quieter than I expected from the pictures! I am at a bit of a loss to provide specifics, because we were happy with everything about the stay. We only had one "issue" (we couldn't figure out how to turn on the outside shower for rinsing off sand/salt) and Theresa responded fairly quickly when I messaged her to ask about it. The bedrooms are back from the street, nice and quiet. The beds were comfy, the A/C works quite well to keep the house temperate, the decor is very homey and pleasant, the washer and dryer run great, and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware/dishes/etc. The icemaker works better than ours at home, in fact. ;) The location is easy to get to, though fair warning if you're driving in from the south: traffic on the main highway can get pretty crazy, so you may want to turn left using the light on 5th street and then swing around the back way through the neighborhood. The resident parking pass for the beach was indeed a great perk; even though the beach is close by, walking across the highway in the afternoon is a little intimidating. Plenty of amenities nearby, we drove from the midwest for the trip and had some concerns with our brakes so we went to the Treadquarters just a few blocks up the highway, they were good to deal with. If you're a first-time vacation home renter like we were, be aware that you need to provide your own toiletries and such; we knew that before we arrived but still managed to forget to bring a few things like toilet paper and laundry detergent (for example). :) I wholeheartedly recommend this home for a vacation, and in fact if we get the opportunity to travel to the Outer Banks again this is the first place I will be checking out!"
