  • Wonderful stay!

"We have never been to the OBX before and had an amazing time. There is so much to do there and Kill Devil Hills is right in the middle of it all. The house, although older in appearance and décor, was clean and comfortable. We had two adults and 5 kids for most of the week and then added two adults for the last weekend and still felt there was plenty of room. One thing I will mention in case you have very young children is that although the beach is within walking distance, you do have to cross a very busy highway to get there. There is a traffic light and crosswalk so it was not an issue for us. Also there is a parking lot right by the beach access if you prefer to drive. We never had a problem finding parking. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Brenda for all the tips on what not to miss!"

  • Home at the beach away from home!

"This was our first trip to OBX and didn't know what to expect when we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised by every detail. The house was clean, relaxing, had everything you could need from everyday kitchen needs to beach chairs and umbrellas and the distance to the beach. Having the outdoor shower was really nice and made for an easy wash off after a day at the beach. The beach is a quick walk down the street and your toes are in the sand in minutes! Michelle told us about a couple of local shops that we really enjoyed visiting (some more then once). At the end of the day it was really nice to relax on the porch or just veg out in the living room watching tv. I am pretty sure at some point during our trip everyone of us fell asleep on the sofa (comfy). I could keep going on and on about how much we loved it! I cant wait to go back next year!"

  • Waking up to ocean waves!

"I usually go to OBX in the winter and have stayed here once or twice before. I keep coming back because it's just so perfect!  It's an end unit on the ocean so there is tons of natural light and you can see the ocean from both bedrooms.  The show stopper is the huge  back porch with spectacular unobstructed views of the dunes, ocean waves and sunrise.  I love waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch- we saw dolphins between 9 or 10 so keep your eyes open!  The location is ideal. There are great restaurants within walking distance and many activities nearby  (Jockey's Ridge, the Wright Memorial, Bodie Lighthouse, Manteo). I love that the condo has a washer and dryer, is dog friendly and the owner is very responsive to emails. The owner mentioned they were about to renovate the bathrooms and I can't wait to come back and see the upgrades!"

  • Close to everything!

"We stayed at the Atlantic Inn coming in for a family event, staying on the back porch. The location is close to the beach, and across the street from a GREAT place for breakfast (Stack 'em High Pancakes - but get there early - the line starts pretty quickly after they open). The unit includes a small kitchenette with a sink, coffee maker, small fridge and microwave, and plenty of storage. There's a futon in the sitting area, and small eating table. The bed was comfy, and there's access to plenty of towels for the shower that you can swap out when you need to. There's coolers, umbrellas and chairs for the beach, but remember to bring beach towels. You have access to a full kitchen with everything you need to cook and eat if you'd like, an ice machine to fill up your coolers, outdoor showers to rinse off after the beach, and a large back yard. George is only a phone call away for anything you need, and was there to let us into our unit when we got into town a little earlier than we thought. Rated a 4 because there's really no place to hang clothes other than a hook over the door to the next unit, and no door between the bedroom and sitting area, so if you're with someone who is on a different sleeping schedule than you, it makes it a little hard. But still a good place to stay that's convenient to everything - Wright Brothers museum down the street, Hatteras not far away, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. And don't miss Duck Donuts!!!"
