  • Great once again!

"Our family of four stayed at the Perfect Catch again this year. It was as clean and well kept as the year prior. Everything in our last review still rings true. We already booked it again for next year!"

  • Just lovely

"I rented this lovely home for 4th of July week with my two boys (12 and 16). This home couldn't have been more perfect for all of our vacation needs. First of all, it looks exactly like in the pictures, but even better. The views are spectacular! The house is right on the water on the sound side, and you can see water from every window. This home and setting is incredibly peaceful and serene. I loved waking up to see the water outside while lying in bed! The views of the water and the sunsets are absolutely spectacular. There was never a lack of things to do.... only a lack of enough time to do them all! I had kayaks and a paddle board delivered and they were there waiting for us to arrive. We paddled around the sound the first day of arrival, and every day after. If you like paddling, this is well worth it! There is more than enough water and interesting things to paddle around to see in the sound. The house is right on a bike path, and I enjoyed riding the path in the mornings before my kids woke up. The town of Kill Devil Hills is pretty busy and has plenty of grocery stores and shopping nearby. But where the house is is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle; yet everything you need is close by. The Outerbanks beaches are beautiful, with nice sand, clear water and waves to play in. I would very strongly suggest renting a jeep and 4 wheeling out to see the wild horses of Carova. Marion, the owner was very responsive, and a delight to deal with. She gave me great suggestions for activities and restaurants nearby (we loved the Black Pelican in Kittyhawk). I would stay here again and recommend it to any friends and family in a heartbeat. The only thing to note is that there isn't internet service or cable at the house. There is a tv and a DVD player. I brought games and movies, and didn't miss TV at all!"

  • Great home, Great vacation!

"We stayed at Freebird over the Easter weekend. The house was perfect for our needs. We had 2 families totaling 4 adults, 2 teens and 2 younger children. We had plenty of room to spread out but also felt very much together. The 2 decks both offered a wonderful view of the ocean and the covered lower level was much appreciated when packing up, since the rain held off until our last day there. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils you could hope for. There were board games and jigsaw puzzles. And our 11 year old wifi expert proclaimed the broadband to be the best ever! The house was very clean and the beds were all comfortable. Joy was so helpful in planning our stay and was even able to offer a shortcut to the beach, we were able to walk there in just a couple of minutes. This was an awesome stay and I cannot recommend this house enough. We will be back!"
