". We have been going to the OBX for 20 years and we have tried a lot of homes. Without a doubt this was Absolutely one of the best houses we've ever rented. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms were spacious (which is usually not the case), the yard was very nice, the pool was great and lots of little touches made the house amazing."

  • Had a ball!!

"The house was clean and relaxed. We liked the fact that the bedrooms were on opposite sides of the living area so there was lots of privacy for couples with kids or multiple couples. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for us since we cook our own food. We didn't use any of the toys, boats or game room but I am sure that would appeal to some. We stayed outside windsurfing, fishing or visiting local sites. There are plenty of places to eat, grocery store, hardware and bait all very close to the house. The house was close to other houses but it was also somewhat secluded. We never felt like we were overcrowded by other homes. For sailers: It was perfect for us. The large yard allowed us to rig and stay rigged the entire week. There was a water hose for rinsing gear before leaving. Sails can be placed under the house for uv protection. The sound is about 50 yards away with nice steps through a sea wall. The water stays waste deep out about 200 years and then dropped off over my head so newer sailers might not like the off shore jibes in heavy chop. East or west winds mean shallow the entire time. You do get a confused chop because of the sea wall but just past the sea wall the chop is more predictable. I am not a kiter so I don't know how much room is needed to launch. The sound access is narrow so you might want to consider that. Canadian hole is a short drive so that is always an option for beginners. I would recommend this house for sailers for sure. We enjoyed catching see mullet on the beach, blue crabs at the dock and kite flying at the beach. There is just so much to do. The owners were super nice and available by text to answer any questions. We actually feel like we made some new friends and we hope to stay in touch. Of course we will be back also."

  • A place that makes you want to move to Duck!

"We spent a week at just ducky with my two children (ages 7 and 3) and my in laws. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the small touches that made this house so wonderful for our family. The three house walk to the beach was incredible and easy for even the most obstinate three year old. The bicycles were so appreciated and we spent the week biking to shops, ice cream and the beach. My seven year old used one bike and could have fit on a few others as well. The helmets were appreciated and we may skip packing our own next year! We packed beach toys but there was no need- the house has toys, umbrellas, plenty of chairs and many pool floats and noodles. We won't pack any of that next year! We cannot say enough about the pool and hot tub area- our young children never left the pool and loved the shallow area and set up. I found the weather a bit hot but my family loved the hot tub anyways! The area was clean and well equipped. As for the house- super clean and th kitchen had plenty of pots, pans and needed gadgets for cooking. We cooked nightly and had everything we needed. We have an anaphylactic contact food allergy and the home was so clean we didn't worry about food residue or crumbs. The children's items were fantastic (high chairs, a bed rail, even a potty seat! Books and a few toys, Tvs, game system, fun video library!) and our kids also enjoyed hanging out in front of cable tv and movies to get out of the sun! The decks were fantastic for coffee drinking and hanging out and the AC kept us super cool and comfortable! There are many things that make renting with children easier and this home had them- night lights with switches around every corner, pool toys and quick walk to the beach, located two minutes from the boardwalk shops and plenty to do, and such a comfortable home. To top it off the owners were incredible- answered emails, checked in with us and left us a welcome bag with some small touches that were so appreciated. We immediately fell in love and planned to rent it again, unless we buy in Duck before then! We simply cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for a great week. We will rent again for sure!"
